I am having trouble getting my 2004 575 tire pressure monitoring system to reset. I do what it calls for in the owners manual, but I do not get the Y ideogram on the display…..driving after pressing the reset button also does not work. Has anybody else seen this issue and if so, what was the fix? Thanks!

John- Likely your batteries are shot. Take her to a good tire shop that has a TPMS tool and they should be able to tell you. Read this when you get bored, but it is kind of old. Sensors are now Huf-Beru or just plain old Huf and there are newer generation sensors out there with much longer battery life.

Please explain your statement that you “replaced the batteries a year ago”…did you install new TPMS sensors or did you break open the TPMS units and replace the batteries in them?

    thanks,

I had the sensors replaced with New HUF monitors that included the batteries. Thanks.

    Vboy:

Those fresh HUF monitors should easily last 5, 7 or even 10 years, so your TPMS problem lies elsewhere. Before you start spending money, maybe you should try to “reboot” the car by disconnecting the battery? After reconnecting the battery you may need to run through the relearning process (a little tedious but not difficult). Search this forum for ‘battery disconnect’ if you’re not familiar with it.

    Keep us posted.

    Good luck,
    Alan
