    Greetings,

My 2002 575M, Assembly No. 47409 and last six of the VIN 130095 has the Fiorano Handling Package (FHP) and yellow brake calipers. As I understand it, red (Rosso Corsa) brake calipers came standard with FHP. Does anyone know if yellow was a no-cost option or cost extra? My build sheet does not show it as an option and I know that they are original to the car. I have included a picture of the right front wheel showing the yellow caliper. It is not the clearest picture, but it will work.

Many thanks and best regards from South Carolina,

An option on FHP cars. Should be on the build sheet as CALY near the HDL1. Do not have any proof whether or not it was extra cost.

Did she come with those wheels originally? That is close to the earliest they were available.

Thanks for the reply, Terry. I do not have anything on the option list that mentions the yellow calipers. It lists everything else including the modular wheels, and both the wheels and the yellow calipers are original to my 575M, hence the uncertainty of why the yellow calipers do not show up. I also think my car is one of the earliest factory-equipped with the modular wheels. My build date is October 2002.

    Best regards,
    Joe

Joe- Do you have a build sheet (shows assembly number) an option sheet (does not show assembly number) or a Monroney (window sticker). Varying degrees of info on each.

Yup, she is one of the earliest with modulars. I think I saw one 129xxx with modular wheels, but that is about it. Surprised she is still a MY 2002 and not MY 2003.

    Hi Terry,

I have the option list, but it does not show the yellow calipers. Let me know if you want to see it. My 575M is listed on the option sheet as a Model Year 02 and was first sold by Ferrari of Los Gatos on January 2, 2003. Must be a late 2002 575M. She has carbon, FHP, Nav, HiFi, Daytona seats, contrasting piping and seat strips, leather shelf, battery charger with prewiring, and of course, the modular rims and yellow calipers. Quite heavily optioned and really pretty. Got her back in 2011 from Steve Harris Imports. Wish I had time to get her out on the road, but service has to come first. That will happen soon. I sure wish I had the window sticker, but I don't have it, so I cannot determine if the yellow calipers were extra cost or not. Quite a mystery.

    Best regards,
    Joe

Joe- Another question we will likely not be able to answer completely, but it appears they were not extra cost, especially since black was available, too. Black was the standard color. Note on mine the brakes are noted as Past. Freni Standard, which means red. If yours says Extra Campionario, there is your answer.

Mine had very few options and looks like nearly every box was checked on yours. You should post some photos of her, and maybe the option sheet, too. Here is my build sheet.

    Hi Terry,

Thank you for your help with this mystery. I have attached what I guess is the options sheet although I labeled it as the build sheet. I do not have the build sheet like you show, so I do not know if they were coded as standard and not extra cost as yours shows. I don't have any good pictures now and she is not nearby to take some pictures of, unfortunately. Once I get her serviced, I will post them. You are such a great contributor to this forum, and I am very appreciative of your assistance with this question.

    My kindest regards,
    Joe

Joe- A dealer can print a build sheet off of MODIS for you.

No shields, just like mine. I am highly ambivalent about shields, ambivalence being defined as your mother-in-law going over a cliff in your new Mercedes GLS.

Note we still did not answer your question, but we are sneaking up on it,

    Hi Terry,

I have Ferrari of Atlanta (really top-grade people there, by the way) getting me a build sheet tomorrow, so let's see what it says. I will provide it when it arrives. I have a set of Yoshis on there now, but I may take them off. I too am ambivalent about them, but they are nice to see along that long silver flank.

I got quite a chuckle about the mother-in-law, but I love mine!!

    My kindest regards,
    Joe

FOA has some really top-notch people. Even highly recommended by one of our pro techs here on FChat.

    Hi Terry,
The great folks at Ferrari of Atlanta, specifically Jade McNeese, sent me my build sheet, which I have attached. It looks like yellow brake calipers were no extra charge on my car. It would appear that if you had FHP, then another color other than the standard red calipers could be selected for no extra cost. So, I say that does answer my question on this. I really appreciate your thoughtful help and suggestions and I hope this research topic will help others in the future.

    My kindest regards,
    Joe

"MyFerrari" on Ferrari's web site should confirm that the yellow callipers where specified, but that will not tell whether it was a cost option (I would assume it was; I may find somewhere a list price mentioning it - I will check).

I have lots of Monroneys with yellow calipers priced, just none with FHP.
