i just now had a dead - flat battery , and when it was recharged , the driver's seat and back rest went to full forward position,, Now neither manual position switch works,, and i am unable to move the seat or the backrest by hand thank God, its in the garage,, I will look for the associated fuse, but if anyone knows anything, pls let m e know if this becomes a $ 1000 item, i am going to scream my overall impression is that all of the electrics in the F car are made in Germany and they are trying to get even for WWII
Strange. It sounds like it's morphed into a 456M seat with easy (rear seat) entry. The seat base motors are relatively cheap and still available (at least from Porsche), but it sounds like a control issue. The fuses are F20 & F23 for the driver (behind the passenger seat footrest). Never charge a Ferrari battery with it connected to the car. Disconnect, charge, reconnect. The seat ECU is probably confused. If you do not have access to an SD2 or equivalent to diagnose the problem, try using the battery disconnect switch to reset everything. Here is a shortcut method for doing that. Run cycle. Turn battery disconnect switch off and turn off all accessories (stereo, A/C, etc). Let engine get completely cold or wait at least 30 minutes. Reconnect disconnect switch. Disarm immobilizer with the fob. Insert key in ignition and leave for 30 seconds. Turn ignition to on and leave for 30 seconds. Turn ignition off and leave for 30 seconds. Turn ignition on, wait for Check OK, and start. May have to push fob again if 120 seconds have elapsed since last fob actuation. Let idle with no input whatsoever for 10 minutes. Turn accessories back on and drive gently for 10-15 minutes at least. You will have to insert stereo code, if required.
Thank you so much,, i appreciate it no end however: Reconnect disconnect switch.: Not sure what that is,, would disconnection Ground do the same? Disarm immobilizer with the fob.: What is the immobilizer ??No idea Lastly, the seat is so far forward, i don;t know how i can start the engine,, and or access these items.. i probably can one way or another
It's the reverse process of .... The disconnect switch is under the hood Image Unavailable, Please Login The switch is firm, so you may need to put some force behind it. Turn until it stops turning (maybe a quarter or half turn?) Key fob? How do you normally start the car? Yes,, are you suggesting that i read it? I also have the 1300 page WSM , without an index, or table of contents , so its almost useless
The PDF ones I have (1354 pages) you click on the little scroll image on the left and it shows all the sections (A-M) and breaks down to individual items. The images Ian posted are from the OM.
