Would enjoy a response re the F1 transmission for the 12 cylinder 575M. Is it practical? Is it a maintenance head ache?

Don't know how much maintenance needed on the 575F1, but I have not heard of any bad reports. I just traded my 550 for a 575. Love the F1. Had F1's on a 355 as well as a 360. The one on the Maranello is "hands-down" better. Quick shifts as well as engine blips in Sport mode make it a ball to drive. Drove it on the track and F1 was really up to the task.

Pratical? Matter of opinion. Much like having an auto on the practicality scale. On the plus side many spouses do not drive stick shifts and the F1 often removes that obstacle.
Not a maintenance headache unless it breaks, which has been rare. Much better in every way than those that came before but if it does break it can be expensive. Components are considered non serviceable (not always true) and are expensive.

Interesting - so the 575 F1 is obviously better than the 360 F1? In what ways? Just interested.

One more generation of fine tuning the hardware and the software is spot on.
