That’s great! It’s funny how these things can really be so frustrating when they are not fixed! May the Horse be with you
She’s alive! Dave and John @ EAG sent me this video on Friday. Looks like we are back on track for an end of month conversion!!! @360trev saved the day! No immobilizer issues. Thanks Trev. The exhaust note is pure Fabio open headers as the rest of the system hasn’t been installed. https://youtube.com/shorts/z0VxkbuocnU?feature=share
EAG has taken so long….I’m hoping the climax of this journey will be considered “tantric” and not a “tease”! ;-)
I really don't know why they didn't come to me first with this problem. Anyway it's looking good with no CELs and fully software wise ready to rock! [emoji119] I spoke to them again yesterday and there has been great progress made on your car (I'm like a dog with a bone ! [emoji38]), So I will keep applying pressure but it also seems their new CEO Chris is kicking butt now too and getting them organized and back on track. I think their backlog will be processed more efficiently herein as he puts in place proper process management. Seems like a good guy, I wish him all the luck [emoji120]
Maybe this week I pick her up? Some pictures that the guys at EAG sent me last week. When the torque tube was dropped, they decided to replace the rear main seal and took a few days to get the parts from Euro Spares. The combination of OEM, EAG, and Fabio parts seem to be looking pretty nice! Pictures are great…but check out what EAG sent me yesterday “cling clang” ^^^ Is what this thread is all about!!!
^^ Just kidding!!! I’ll report back after I drive That’s Art behind the wheel. Soundtrack courtesy of Fabio!! Tune by @360trev Nice way to head into the weekend!!
The wait has been insane. Excited for the end of this “EAG stage” and the start of your “experience stage”!
Be interesting to know if the conversion has the "stiff" 1st to 2nd shift when cold. With my OEM manual, it's 1st to 3rd until warmed up.
Might want to consider taking a look at the 2nd gear synchros…these are a pretty common soft spot in the era Transmission from my understanding.
My oem gated also has very stiff 1-2 shift when cold. When warm no issues, but still slightly tight compared to other gears. @dhalperin13 did I remember correctly that urs is hgtc too? If so, wowowow, u have the grail!
@Mellow_Maranello has the grail car @Qksilver has eloquently stated that a manually equipped 575 is approaching motoring perfection…. I will continue to do what I can to chase that dragon!
If not “grail” then “Alicorn” ;-) for @Mellow_Maranello Our girls are 7 and 8 and as a reminder, (as I understand it) only “pony royalty” are winged and have magical horns, thus “Alicorns”.
Not that it helps my car enter “alicorn” status, but a number of people have asked what we did with the sound system. So far, 100% stock except for 4 audison speakers. The fitment in the rear is perfect from my understanding…the oem grills do not fit over the speakers in the door cards. I’ve always enjoyed the look of exposed drivers… Image Unavailable, Please Login Both of the sets of speakers I bought from a seller on EBay. He was really good to work with expediting shipping on the last set. https://www.ebay.com/itm/224461498191
Initial impressions of my 575! Just passed emissions today and can renew my plates tomorrow for proper driving . I took delivery on Friday, but had to travel out of town and didn’t get much time behind the wheel. The interior is night and day (better). EAG’s leather guy did a really nice job on the leather work. All interior stickies resolved….The interior condition now is ~9.5 out of 10…a real “wow”. Driving…the car is super smooth, comfortable, fast, and extremely quiet with windows up (except for the snap crackle and popping on deceleration in sport mode - thank you @360trev ). Shifting is surprisingly good. Proper cling clang!! Smooth into every gear…second gear is not experiencing the OEM issues noted earlier I’ll try to upload a video soon. I have a friend with a 550 so I’m hoping to compare the dynamics of both side by side. I am surprised how tame the exhaust note sounds in the cabin. Under load and high RPM, I hear the glory…but I have been listening to Fabio’s YouTube videos for 2 years now and expected her to get flat out rowdy with the valves open. I do not hear them actuate and wonder if it (valve control) is working properly…I could be wrong here…I have it being checked out next week along with the sway bar and steering wheel ecu installation. In summary…I want/need a lot more time behind the wheel…Im pleasantly surprised about the condition of the vehicle, pleased with the feel of the shifting, and interested in determining if my expectations about the exhaust note where off…if so, I’ll be fine thinking of this as my “gentleman’s car” or “date night ride”.
