Just out of interest and not knowing any specifics. Why would there be compatibility issues with different MHz clocks? I would suspect that's just ECU internal rate and not something which affects anything which is "visible" outside of ECU. Now if several boxes communicate with MHz level lines or outside communication is also different in some way between different MHz then it makes sense.

No clue, except later Body and F1 ECUs are incompatible with early Motronic ECUs and the Motronic clock rates change as systems evolve.

Another build update courtesy of Fabio. He has continued to share updates on the exhaust system. The photos he sends and the description of what is happening brings a smile to my face every time I see them come in. I feel like I am there watching this beautiful system/work of art get assembled.

Dave @ StickyRx worked with Fabio to make a modification to a switch the was "resprayed" with an exhaust valve icon. This will serve to open the valves at the muffler. In addition to the modification to the switch, Fabio and his brother fabricated a proprietary circuit board which attaches to the switch.

Darius- Sounds like one of those 90s Ferrari F1 V12s at 7000 rpm.

@dhalperin13 are you sure you want to install them on the car instead of making them into a stand for your formal glass dinner table?

I just had a good call with EAG. Build completion is targeted for early October. I was hoping to have it ready for the Ferrari event next month at Road America... interested in seeing how much of 6th gear I could get through on the track ;)

Teardown is scheduled for this week! I sent Art a care package today including some switches, TPMS sensors, gaskets, and a proper OEM gate. The sport switch isn't for this project, Art sent me a switch from his 360 to replace mine, which had started failing. Much appreciated as these are nearly impossible to track down!

Dan, something not looking right about that gearstick. It’s got a kink in it pointing backwards, which is correct for a 456. For a 550, I would expect it to be dead straight.

The turret is a reproduction , though looks great. Curious to know if the stick is out of a 456.

Many RHD 550's also had the kink. I believe this was done because the RHD cars have the shifter in the middle of the console, farther away from the driver than the LHD cars which was offset to the left of the console. So for RHD cars they fitted the kinked stick to make it easier for drivers to reach the shifter more comfortably.

RHD cars had a kink to the right because the hole in the chassis is in the same place on LHD and RHD cars (slightly to the left). I’ve never seen a LHD 550 with the kink though.

Always happy to be corrected though, but I will say that I’ve handled over a dozen 550 and 456 turrets, both left and right hand drive.

Oh no I'm with you, I've never seen a LHD car with a kink they've always been straight. Didn't catch you specifically mentioned it angled to the back, as opposed to angled to the right as in the 550's.
