Greetings, I ordered my missing key tags from Mark at Ferrarifobs.com. These tags were the last details that I needed to complete all the items that originally came with my 575M. I provided Mark with pictures of my key showing the cuts and grooves along with a tracing of the outline of the key. For a nominal fee, Mark made me my missing key tags and I received them in just a few days. I have attached a picture of the tags. I heartily recommend Mark's key tag service and I want to thank him for all the great services he offers to our community. Best regards and happy holidays, Joe (aka Gem) 12/23/22 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mark is the man, he sorted my fobs at my house, great guy and great service. What was the original purpose of the key tags ? I wonder if my 456M came with them are they meant to be kept with the key ?
These cars have keys with 6 potential cutting spots and 5 different potential depths. There are 1,092 different key cut combinations that Ferrari used for these keys and included two key tags with each new car that ranged from H7001 - H8092. I've been looking at these key tags for years not knowing exactly what they meant, but after I purchased a code cutting machine I quickly realized what was going on with key codes. I charged Joe $10 to make a pair of key tags that correspond to the original key code and key tags that would have come with his car. If anyone else would like key tags just send me a message (this is fun for me).
Another +1 for Mark, he's been spectacular to work with. When I bought my 550 it only came with one key, the black fob (just one), and no key tags. I sent my immobilizer and key fob to Mark and he was able to, for a very reasonable price, pull the code and create an OEM red fob, extend the range, get me a key slip as well as key tags, and a spare F430-style key. This is my second experience with Mark's services, after he sold me a couple of keys for my previous 360 Modena. It's people like Mark who make this forum a wicked resource for DIY Ferrari owners.
