I see some 575's for sale in the UK with SatNav listed as an extra - sometimes it refers to 'Factory SatNav' or 'Ferrari SatNav'. Interior shots of the car just show the standard Becker OEM stereo. Has anybody used the Ferrari satnav? If so, where do the maps and directions display?

Not sure why you'd ever want SatNav in your 575, but just curious as to how the system works.

    Thanks,

    LWR

The SatNav or Ferrari Nav in 575 is the same as the TrafficPro Unit made by Harmon Kardon. It has no maps just small arrows. The unit looks exactly the same as a regular Becker unit except it has a button on top that says "Nav" once you press it, the arrow direction come on the small radio screen in addition to voice guidance. There are no maps or a larger screen like those present on conventional nav systems. I put a picture of the HK system below.

I have been in a awesome high spec 575 with 19" Novitech wheels, full leather, rear camera etc etc (i posted pics in the showroom section) this car had a sat nav system which the owner installed afterwards.

It was a Pioneer system which had one of those head units which came out of the dash and slid up (looks cool) and was programmed with the nav CD of the UK - but the best thing about this system was that it also had a digitised rev counter with 3 dials and would mimic exactly what you see on your conventional speedometer......was the dog bollox.

I have this thing in my 575. It has such a horrible user interface, I didn't get it to work. But to be honest, I don't need it. I tried for a few minutes, then gave up. As someone mentioned before, it's a becker stereo with sat nav integrated. I do not not even use the stereo.

Pioneer AVIC-N1, it's an excellent Nav system (dvd based, touch screen). I think it's a perfect set up for the 550/575, partiuclarly because the screen can be set to open an a number of different angles.

If you can live with it's shortcomings, it's a fine system. Otherwise I recommend the Pioneer AVIC990HVT-II based on the slightly larger P7500 screen. Has a separate nav unit, though, but that fits fine in the boot/trunk. I've got it in my 575 - it's great.

No speedo build-in, though. You have to use the "real" one... :)

I have used it before and once you get through the silliness of the user interface it works quite well.

My vote is on the 990, simply because you have the navi-DVD in a separate unit. The N1 works with a 64Mb memory, where you have to swap the navi-DVD out if you want to play a CD/DVD - and back in to enter new destinations. I don't want to be a disc-jockey when I'm driving.

Do any of them work with the standard CD stacker? I'm thinking of doing a na upgrade too, they're great for country driving.

I think both does. I have a 6-disc DVD changer in the 575 with the 990. Fits in the "smuggler" room below the trunk/boot together with the poweramp. If I remember correctly you can get a 10-disc cd-changer as well.

A multi-disk changer is an easy fix for this. That aside, I'm wondering if the AVIC990HVT-II is available in the states. A quick google search seems to indicate it is a Europe only item.

    It's just the AVH-P7500DVD with a DVD-navi unit sold as a package.
