Does anybody have intel on how long a steering rack should last (in terms of mileage) with normal driving and no abuse? I'm asking because I my inner tie rod is loose and I can either put a used rack on (off a car with 10,000 miles) or spend $5K+ on a new one. Appreciate any thoughts - thanks!

Or rebuild it for 150 bucks by rotex in Gardena california or the other really really good rebuilder for 300 Atlantic enterprises iirc. Rotex did mine about 6 mons ago I told them it was from volvo truck.

Fat Billy Bob, can you elaborate on the "300 Atlantic enterprises iirc?" Not finding anything that matches that but did find the Rotex website - thanks!

I also had my steering rack rebuilt about 1 month ago by an outfit in the Mid West.
They are standard ZF fare, so it is not a big deal.

Thanks, to all of you who responded with advice - I hope I can gain enough knowledge someday to return the favor!

Daniel, I called Atlantic and they confirmed that they don't rebuild the inner tie rods. Appreciate the recommendation, though. Thanks!
