This is the Ferrari cars for sale section. He has a Ferrari, albeit for a friend, that is for sale. Carry on... Mike
For the doubters, I would suggest that the OP probably would not use an ID with his real name if this was questionable. He has a pretty well established professional footprint under this name online and I would assume one quick call would easily establish contact and confirm his identity.
My generous offer is good til the close of business Tuesday 16 Sep 14 Thank you Tom 949 378 8405 is my number
Did the OP get scared away by the comments, or did he accept Tom's offer? Incidentally, my opinion is that it looks like a pretty neat car. I like cars which are not quite barn finds, but rather long-term ownership.
The picture of the engine is kinda weird. Why is the engine so dirty when the rest of the car is so squeaky clean? The badge on the front doesn't look like a prancing horse. There is an odd hose in the engine compartment on the left side I have never seen before. What are the two round black things on the right hand side. There is odd red wiring on the right hand side, and the air cleaners are also odd. I would really like to see better pictures of the engine and the interior.
I'd like to see more as well. Someone who was actively messing around with the car in 1978 (per the registration sticker) probably didn't care as much about "originality" as we do now. It was just a cool old car then.
I wonder if he got overwhelmed by offers, and thus didn't need to post anything else here. Obviously he had at least one real offer, and he probably received more by PM.
That could be. My first thought when I saw the picture was that the engine shot is Photo Shopped. I would have cleaned that engine up a little bit myself. Another interesting thing is that I cannot see the two holes in the rocker for the jacking points. In the picture it looks like they have been filled in.
Interesting the two round black things look very shiny, no dust on them? It is a mystery! OP http://member.oip.net/loyd/index.shtml ?
Re those black 'things' - look in the vintage section at the thread for 'Restoration of 1963 250GTE 4879", 1st post and down about 10 pictures is one of those black 'things'.
I see it.......interesting .......I have never seen anything like that before on a vintage Ferrari. is that factory or some add on?
