Now a broke plumber with no true equity in anything other than his business I would guess. Hope he enjoys the car! You only live once... That same Hist channel (or nat/geo) show got me all hot and bothered about the 599 too! Great show. Look forward to driving one with WCD someday and then owning one when they get down below $150k... Won't be long before you can get a decent early one for that...

If he ordered a new one, there is no way he is paying $270K. Sticker is over $360K and Ferrari will not let the dealers discount the MSRP that much.

If he re-fied a property to get it, you might see the car on the market as soon as he takes delivery. It is insane to buy a Ferrari that way.

With 5K miles, you can go about $250K, I am told. (By salesmen in the business.)

    Not anymore..

4 weeks ago yes! I agree and some brokers and dealers are a day or 2 behind right now. I know I was. yesterday I was offered by more then a few dealers not brokers MY08's in $330k range wholesale.

I think what happening alittle is that at the end of the year people needed to get rid of some cash for tax reasons and starting buying a few cars. Right now with prices down more people can afford a 430 and more 430 guys can afford now a 599. That making the market larger and decressing the supply abeit a small amount. MB guys are now seriouly buying 430's and Porsche guys are buying 599's.

Don't believe the hype of what people are telling you. I have posted dozens of times about the economy and I can tell you that it is NOT getting better. It is getting worse and it will get much more worse before it gets better.

If you are seeing any price strength, you should call others. It is bad out there.

In fact, the Madoff "issue" and the Satyam problem are just examples. The news dribbles out every day, and it is bad. (And, I consider myself an optimistic person--I am delighted that prices are getting 'real' and that I can make money in this market.)
