599 6 speed Gear Box Driving Impressions

Finally I got to drive my 599 GTB. Today was the first time I was able to pull her out of the Garage. I know few of you were waiting for this write up on driving a 6 speed Gear 599 GTB. Well it is simple easy and yet a bit challenging. I heading towards Mulholland Drive. The scenic view was just phenomenon. Fist Gear going up the hill was a bit of problem. The car wants to roll back. I keept my foot on the clucth gave it some gas and I was off. Changing to second gear have to press hard on the cluch and will easily go into second gear. Driving on normal flat roads was a breez. I had the RPM at a modest range(5000 6000). I never had to bother shifting to 5 or 6. I used 1,2,3, 4. Gears at Different speeds. Yes it was fun. On twisty roads keep it in 2nd gear. On the highw ay 4 is more then sufficient unless your racing. I do not recommend nor advise on public roads.

You need some practice to drive this car with a manuel Gear box. I stalled the car few times my self. After some time with patience and some more practice I was able to drive the car. Gear Box is very well built and it was designed to take a beating. (within reason).
Driving back home I realized I made a proper decision buying a 599 with a proper Gear Box. Again it will take some time to drive this car. But the end result is nothing less then thrilling. Hope you like my write up and my experience .

I must admit the 599 GTB is one of the best cars I have drivern from Ferrari. I always complained about the brakes. Wow the brakes and suspension on the 599 GTB. Is one of the best.
