Yes it is, some articles on the Web used this picture mentionning it as being a photoshop. But still no pictue of the real 599 Spider/Barchetta/Convertible...
A near high water mark for "frenzy marketing".Few do it better than the arrogant folks at Headquarters. We all want to put the top down in a 200mph Ferrari but the reality is it's insane to drive at high speeds in a car with little,if any, rollover protection. All this over what,75 units?Sorry, but can I cut in line in front of you?.I do have some impairments when it comes to good judgement.
If you crash at 200 mph you can bet that having rollover protection won´t make much difference. So what the heck!
Je crois que tu peux tout casser... Mais je viens de penser à un truc, tous les 10 ans, Pininfarina nous offre un proto Ferrari pour célébrer son anniversaire... Pinin, Mythos, Rossa... Quid du mondial de Paris cette année ????
DeSoto,it does make a difference whether you have rollover protection at 200 mph.Remember with Ferrari guys image is important.Imagine your open casket funeral with nice slicked back hair and a smile on your face versus no roll over protection and a closed casket.
ONEOFEW is correct all points. The car was the only one in existence and not a runner. GTO engine and *perhaps* the same underpinnings. Soft top sides match aluminium trim and it looks very good with the top on (and fantastic with it off!). There is space for the folded top in the elongated trunk...they took out the parcel shelf behind the seats and added that space to the trunk. Top is rated to 75 MPH as the car is intended as a roadster. Nifty slide in window for between the roll hoops..but none of this is for sure as the show car was *not* final. The car is gorgeous IMHO. An interesting new three layer process to the paint and as stated above, new colours on offer...and some wild colours at that! "Crackle" finishes available for the engine bay as well. Less than 100 to be built for the world and I really, really want one! A few pics from the outside (including cool Mantide on hand!)...
