    Out of curiosity, what is the cruising RPM on the 599? At say 70 or 75 mph..

    in 6th gear? I'd say about 3500
    in 5th gear? I'd say about 4200

    Probably a bit less than that.

    I think it's around 3000rpm at 130km/h (80mph).

    You are probably correct, since 70-75 is above posted limits, I really couldn't tell you for certain :)

    Easy to calculate. Top speed at 205 mph = 8250 rpm, 75/205 x 8250 = 3018 rpm

    5th and 6th are both overdrive with 5th 0.94:1 and 6th 0.76:1. It is a nice long-legged beast, with lower gearing like a drag racer. If you want to know what it is in 5th, multiply by 94/76.
