Crap -- every Ferrari I have ever owned suffers with the dash leather. My TR was badly shrunk before I received it -- but nearly every TR I've seen is like that.

My Stradale alcantara has this weird mottled look but only on the top of the dash and not on the top of the instrument group and not on the front of the dash. Yet it only has a few thousand miles and has always been kept clean and in climate controlled environment.

Now my 2008 599 with black dash leather has a large wrinkle starting on the top of the dash. It has about 25,000 miles and it too has always been clean and stored in climate control and leather cleaned and treated each year.

I have several Porsches and use the same products procedures, two are a decade old and have 200,000+ miles on them -- yet I have never seen a wrinkle on a Porsche dash (or Lambo or Aston or ????).

Anyone else having this problem with the 599? I have talked to several Stradale people with the problem.

    Thanks.

the leather issue is nothing compared to the sticky melting interior.
so if ur 599 doesnt have that problem, thank god.

My 612 has also started to wrinkle the dash. Still small but I know its coming.

The thing that bothers me is that it happened just after I started treating the leather frequently. It made me think if the shrinkage isn't related to be throwing conditioners to the leather?? I say this because the way I use and store the car didn't change. The only thing that changed was the conditioning of the leather.

    Any thoughts?

My California and my 612 have leather shrinkage too. I call it a trait of character and left it alone ;)

I guess that there maybe be some connection between treatment and shrinkage. Maybe when you apply teh conditioner you moisturize leather and it affects factory glue which holds it in place...

I left my 599 out in the Texas sun this summer for several hours and the wrinkles disappeared. Took it back in the garage to cool off and they came back. Pretty strange

I had this in my 612 and while I couldn't make it go away permanently in the time I owned it, I would treat the leather regularly and when I wasn't driving, I left a glass paper weight wedged between the glass and the wrinkle which flattened it out well enough for a day's driving.
