I just bought a 599 with only 467 miles on the odometer that was on eBay. Absolutely in excellent condition, no scratches or dents, had the cover and all the manuals except somehow NO owner's manual. Leery about buying a car this expensive off of eBay, I contacted the Cleveland Exotic car dealer (Marshall Goldman Auto Sales), who has bought several of my cars over the last year. He's the same dealer who just sold me my 06 F430 Spider and my 07 F430 coupe. He worked on the sellers (a dealer) and got me a good deal I could live with and I felt that if there were any problems, he was the one who had to handle the situation instead of me. So to show how you just how good this guy is, today he ordered me a 'New' 599 Owner's manual from Ferrari at NO cost to me.

The question I need some help with is, 'Does the 599 come with a toolkit?' Somehow I get the feeling it does cause there is a dual strap indentation area in the trunk and I certainly don't think it's for holding the manuals! I'm almost afraid to hear the answer! If it does, damn, flaps down for attack number two!

I even had to call down to MAG (Midwestern Auto Group) in Columbus, Ohio to ask them where I could find the battery charger connector so I could make sure the battery was up to snuff. They told me it was in the trunk on the passenger side. Voila! The battery is now finally on its charger!

Any help to my minor dilemma, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Michael

Thank you! Like the post above suggests, they are steel brakes. I checked some other 559s out that were available and some had ceramics brakes but they didn't have near the options this 599 had. Besides, I'm not a tracker or super high speed driver by any means! So I wouldn't take full advantage of the ceramics. Plus, I think they were getting around $16-17K for the ceramics! You can sure get a lot a lot of other neat options for that kind of money. One of the options I have is the lower and upper carbon fiber cabin treatments which were around $5500 each! Mags

    Thank you!

Yeah.... sometimes I surprise myself with the crazy sh_t I do!

I sold the 04 CGT and 06 SLR a couple of weeks ago and picked up a 06 F430 Spider and a 07 F430 Coupe. I really didn't think a 599 GTB was going to be a possible reality until Fall or Winter of next year! Mags

Looks fantastic. I'm thinking the tool kit walked away with the manual. It's cheesy but this happens. Watch for it to appear on ebay.

The twin leather straps in the trunk on the right hand side are indeed for holding the leather pouch containing the manuals.
The factory battery charger, if installed, is behind the removeable panel in the trunk also on the right hand side.
The tools are under the removeable floorpiece in the trunk which lifts up and out revealing a storage area and the tools and spares lamps/fuses in a beautiful leather case.
Another useful tidbit is the manual trunk release ring which is under the removeable pice in the center divider between the seats - the electric trunk release does act up from time to time.

Thanks for the help! I guess I know whose ass I'll be calling if I have a question on the car! How come you know so much about the 599? Are you a owner too? If not, have you driven one? Anyway, your knowledge is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Magwheel

I was gonna suggest putting this in the 599/612 forum so you'd be more likely to get a response, but looks like that was already taken care of!

Beautiful, beautiful car...do you have any pictures of your entire (impressive from what you mentioned in your first post) lineup?
