He apparently has a thing for the number 70, so he has ordered 599 Roadster number 70. Obviously - not yet a delivered car, so claiming he already has the car is BS.

Just so you know Ferrari will producing a 599 roadster, with the GTO engine and gearbox setup. You may see it soon, I personally love the way the top works, it makes much more sense then the 550 Barchetta.

How can he order 70 of 70 when the cars may or may not be numbered and Ferrari has yet to give a solid production number?

I'm only quoting what's been published... Who knows what the 'real' story will be! Personally, I'm more interested in seeing the car than knowing who's ordered one... When will it be revealed to the rest of us?!!!

Where does it say that he has one? The article states that he ordered one.

    What's so hard to believe?

That wasn't directed at you :). I just find it funny that he has already ordered the last car, when I highly doubt that they will only make 70 examples and that he would get the last car. I don't believe he is a good enough customer to get the last car. Take for example Ferrari of Silicon Valley they are at present time only get one example and the owner of FOSV (Art) is getting that car, there are plenty of great customers ahead of this kid.

I saw this and was curious. I dare say it is just a typo, some has confused/combined the two cars, the new roadster and the GTO.

Hope they do do a GTO Roadster. I'm betting they will.

    Nice collection.

I can understand if it was a GTB roadster, but a GTO roadster??? Are they going to make both???

GTO is not part of its (current) title, however it does have the GTO engine and gearbox. Plus several weight saving items from the GTO, it matches the weight of the 599GTB. A "GTB roadster" would not make sense as the letters G T B are reserved for coupes.

Right. What I'm trying to say is would it be a light-weight track version like a GTO, or just a convertible version of the 599. 599 Roadster is to 599 GTB as 430 Spider is to 430 Coupe, OR, is it 599 Roadster is to 599 GTO as 430 Scuderia Spider 16M is to the 430 Scuderia? I hope I'm making sense...

It will be much closer to the 16M, however it is not as "hardcore" as the 16M.
