Did anyone order the Telemetry Option for their GTO? If so have you used in when tracking your car?
I did. I will find out hopefully at the track days coming June. But first she has to be delivered by the end of April! I'll keep you posted.
Its there in the options, check this post in my delivery thread for a little picture of the record button. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=140240685&postcount=49 Haven't tried mine yet either, waiting for better weather!
This really sucks! I would have checked that box if I had known it was available. I'm also looking at the option sheet I was given when I spec'd my GTO and I can't seem to find it. Was it included with another option or as a totaly seperate item? What was the option code number? I see it on the window sticker you posted in another thread @ 3K. Its a noshow option on my build sheet.
I went to the Manhattan Ferrari showroom and spec'd out my GTO, which took about 2 hours. I forgot to order front parking sensors and I saw nothing about telemetry. Oh well...
The telemetry option wasn't available during the first production months. The same story for the front parking sensors. In my opinion was it a separate item (I've ordered it separately). Indeed the latter pricelist differs slightly from the initial one. Actually I think it's only software that maybe can be installed later on? ...hopefully not at an astronomical high exotic pricing... The Modis Codes are: PAR2: front & rear parking sensors DEPK: telemetry kit
Ferrari introduced telemetry at the same time as the coloured carbon fiber option in the late summer 2010. I ordered the former but didn't like the latter -- they have pictures of the coloured CF in the Atelier book and FNA was nice enough to fly up a sample of the red CF for me to look at (the other option is blue) and it didn't match my rosso fuoco exterior colour. If you had a blu pozzi or burgundy (like barchetta) colour, the blue or red CF might look good, but it needs to match exactly to make it worthwhile, in my opinion. Haven't got my car yet (didn't want it during the winter) but will report back about telemetry when i use it -- looks like others will get there first!
I asked my dealer today, they weren't aware of it and it isn't on the list of Swiss market options, however we are currently waiting to see what exactly the telemetry consists of and whether it can be added to my car.
I would appreciate it if you could post feedback as soon as you got the answer. As Skydancer stated: early production wasn't available. Neither were parking sensors. Since mine is a 174 S/N I don't have either one of these options. I can live without the front parking sensors but would love to find out if the telemetry option can be retrofitted. If not possible well ... Skydancer: we can always swap cars once every weekend? That would partially fix my problem.
No problem, will post up as soon as I find out more. The official Swiss options list isn't very helpful, it said only rear park sensors, but we asked and I've got front and rear. So I'm hopeful about the telemetry. PS. Got the GTO sculpture today
Neither I am aware of what's on their list but ... maybe you can find out sooner... by suggesting you might resignate on the 2012 Enzo ;-)
Splendid idea! With the oncoming spring we certainly have to work that out... hmm let's see ... does April 30th fits you? ;-)
I'm your man Skydancer!!! Date is marked in "Rosso" on my calendar!!! Good thing you went for the black roof and interior or we could have swapped cars easily by mistake
Ok, I have added this to my order. Over here it is CHF 3650, option code DEPK. What you get for that is real time data recording onto a USB stick you need to plug into the glovebox which can then be uploaded to a windows PC and you get some analysis software. The info says the system is particularly useful for track use as it can recognise repeated laps and monitors driver performance on a lap-by-lap basis. The "rec" button on the centre tunnel console starts and stops data acquisition. The PC software allows two basic views. One shows track map & position and is a demo of the driven route with the parameters you'd see inside the car on nice graphical dials (speed, engine rpm) plus other data: lateral and longitudinal G, manettino settings, tyre, and brake status. The other view is more traditional to people who have used data logging equipment with graphs that seem to be customisable to some extent, based on the following parameters: lap time, engine speed, vehicle speed, gear, state of brakes, tyre status, engine temp, "vehicle performance index" (?), lat & long G, manettino setting.
Great Intel. My only question at this point is whether this system can be retrofitted and at what cost? Wait........Thats two questions.
Hello I post a onboard video that I recorded last saturday inside my 599 GTO. I use Race technology telemetry system to record video and data. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7pNAQfcoXw[/ame]
This week I spoke with a men from Ferrari in SPAIN and He told me that the telemtry System could me installed as a aftersales in any Ferrari model. Yesterday, I went to Barcelona dealer and I made an order for my Gto. The men in parts department does not have information about the system but they will ask To Ferrari. I would like that the Gto Owners that have this telemetry System installed To post more information or screeshots about the data that you get. In my case, I have had installed a telemtry System from Race Technology in my Gto, that combines onboard video and data logging , so I am bery interested in compare the offcial System vs Race Technology.
