First post! Edited to say: It's really got nothing in the way of looks in comparison to V12 Ferraris of yesteryear. It appears to derive it's presence from being HUGE. It lacks elegance and and grace (think 275s), it lacks outright brutality (think Daytona), and it's just not beautiful (any 250). Anyone agree?
No. Tifosis didn't like the 365 GTB/4, when it first came out, either. Just wait till you see it in person, i'm sure we'll all love it!
I beg to differ...IMHO the new 599 is one of the best looking Ferrari road cars in over a decade, other than the F50...
I don't know what the hell is happening at Ferrari these days but they are churning out some of the worst looking cars in their history these days. The 599 has got to be one of the ugliest cars they have ever produced. It looks like a Toyota on steroids.
This looks bad to you? Because if it does, boy, are we on different pages of the book.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
It looks ok, but it doesnt look like a Ferrari should IMO. Looks more Japanesse than Italian which is a shame.
Well I am sure as with several past Ferrari's there will be angles it looks terrific and angles not so. I like some of the design elements of the car like the C-pilar. As with Ferraris of recent past they grow on you as you look at them longer. Personally I can't wait to see it in person. Had hoped it would have made it to NY Auto show. Anyone know when is the North America release date? Thanks
its faster than a stock F40 or F50, more comfortable than a 550/575, whats not to love! I ordered one!
The vents on the front fenders look awkward to me. This is how I'd like it: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great photoshop! However, the front fenders look identical to the Corvette's. IMHO, keep it the way it is. Why mess with something thats perfect anyway Though your spyder idea has my full backing
I did order it in yeller! Not as Bling as a 512M, but since I can't grow sideburns, I settled for a 599! (You need to get that 512M NOW!)
I made this point in an earlier post. And please don't try and think I'm trying to start a flame war. There's no doubting it's driving credentials - the thing is going to be awesome. It's just I expect to be in LOVE with a Ferrari the moment I see the first picture of it. And this doesn't deliver that - I'm *TRYING* to like it as opposed to being mesmerised instantly (like I was with the 288 GTO, the F355, the F40, the ENZO, the 275GTB/4) Work with me on this as I think this may be a more accurate reflection of my opinion: The 599 is *probably* a nice looking CAR. (on an absolute scale) BUT Is it a nice looking FERRARI??? (on a relative scale) - my opinion - NO.
I agree, and know what you're saying. The way I see it is some like it and some don't. That's OK, the blond vs brunette debate. But I'd venture to say that even to the tifosi that DO like it, there are more people that are disappointed than are ecstatic with what came off the drawing board i.e. didn't quite measure up to their expectations. That is a shame, because I've been told by those who've driven 575s and 612s, the 612 is a wonderful car to drive.....and they were looking forward to the 599 as it'd be even better. Chalk me up to the don't like it/disappointed crowd.
Any car that is universally loved by everyone at introduction very quickly becomes boring and unexciting. Best classics from Ferrari were not accepted by everybody either ,at first.
