I'm now really curious and want to Measure mine when I get a chance. Both of yours seem pretty close but one is lowered much more than the other, and correct me if I'm wrong but is Joes car lower, but been lowered less ?
That's what surprises me Jkay. I couldn't get my car this low on the stock springs, and that was coming from two reliable sources. The rear has a greater area of available adjustment. I kept mine higher because I like the raked look, so I still have about an inch of lowering available.
Correction: just pulled the car out and measured again on the street: 1) 3-1/4" 2) 26-5/8" 3) 29-1/4" Full tank of gas.
Not the first time I've had to do something twice! That reminds me to add air to the right rear tire. It was too close to the garage wall and I forgot after driving it lol
Not as bad as I thought, but spacers would look better no doubt. .... haven't had time to measure height properly Yet to compare to you and Roupin as weather has been terrible over the past few days In the top image it'smore obvious.... definitely Happy with car being slightly Lower tho, went around 12mm in the end ETA: I'm really curious how my height measurements will compare to both of yours Image Unavailable, Please Login
Definitely could use spacers, but you're 90% there. Amazing what a drop does to sports cars. Looks amazing. How's it sound?
Thank you Joe, and Yes definitely happy she's been dropped, all on the stock springs. Looks (to me anyway) much better after being dropped a tad. The pic on the road was actually taken by a friend/ Neighbour from a bus stop as I was driving by. Now the fabspeed cat bypass pipes and capristo remote have been installed Im much happier with the sound. Much throatier especially at low speeds, so I can enjoy that exhaust note even when I'm not on it. Like many others, I'm not constantly trying to get the revs up just to open the valves up, which is also great Now all I need to do is wait for the weather to improve. Nothing but heavy and constant rain forecast for the next week (been raining for the past few days as well), before I can go for a drive with the windows down, enjoy that exhaust note and not get soaked in the process !
I wasn't even aware of it! Where can I find details ? Thanks Edit: just checked schedule and If it's this coming Monday I won't be able to attend, gutted, but there's always next time !
As far as I know some 4 wheel Drive guys were putting on big spacers, around 90mm or so which didn't end too well, so they just decided to have a blanket rule for everyone, all Spacers, all Sizes, regardless of how they're fitted. That's what I've been told Anyway but could be wrong. I also have a friend who got fined for having (aftermarket) recaro seats in his car, and friend's who have gotten fined for doing 61kmh in a 60kmh zone (speed trap was hidden behind bushes at bottom of a hill)
OK, understand. In germany, they punish you for both, spacers and cat bypass, but i think cat bypass harder because it's tax fraud too. Daniel
Yes. In Germany we pay a tax for every 100 cm/2 Engine volume. So for a 599 (5999 cm/2) you pay 60x the tax. The 599 is classified as Euro 3 pollutant class. The tax is classified in pollutant classes. Without cat is the most expensive class. Then they have cat engines Euro 1, Euro 2, Euro 3, ..... Euro 6 (the cheapest and cleanest class) Also the Diesel are classified. When you change to cat bypass, the engine produces more pollutant and you loose the type approval for for your car. You produce more pollutant and if this would be legal, you would have to pay more tax (Euro 2 instead of Euro 3 for example). But this is not legal, because the car has a type approval for Euro 3. 1st problem - lost type approval - punish 2nd problem - lost pollutant class - tax fraud - punish Daniel
