    I've never heard of a single issue of reliability with this gear box. I've not yet driven one but I look forward to that day.

    I went from the 430 to the 599. And I will never look back and never have. It’s a tremendous car, beautiful, with an incredibly intoxicating interior as well. The engine has sick power and is an absolutely phenomenal driving experience. And I actually find the 599 better on the track, as it has so much power and is pretty darn nimble for a “GT”.I tracked a 458 last weekend, and much prefer the 599.

    thanks for these thoughts.
    you have 'a couple' 599's?? that's quite an endorsement. i have a lot of cars but no doubles !
    the price point is very attractive right now for the higher mileage ones, and i have never minded mileage since it means it works !!

    i think you are probably right.
    the only thing holding me back right now is the notion that i can run the 430 for ever and not care about what happens to it or what its worth.
    and i have plenty of gentlemen type cars.

    will see what some of these guys will give me for the 430 and think about it.

    I have 3 Ross... 2 regulars and the GTO. So yes, you could say I am a fan of the 599!

    An argument for the 599 ?

    It's a beast !


    It's a really fantastic car, much fun to drive, but :

    2010 I bought my 550 Maranello.
    2015 I bought the 599 GTB in addition to the Maranello.
    But I think I would have regrets when I would have sold the 550.
    The 599 GTB would not replace the 550 in all details.
    And for me it would not be worth to sell the 550 for the 599 GTB.

    Hope my grammar is not to bad.

    Mine is black but with curio interior which is what sold me on this particular car.

    Rosso Scuderia which is fairly rare with a lovely black interior and the Nero Daytona has a beautiful cuoio interior. The GTO may win first price though! Originally a VVIP car... and then I purchased it!

    Malcolm, in the photo you're driving a Euro spec 599, and we're looking at kilometers per hour, right?

    OK, I know you're doing "Double the Ton" in mph. I figured it was on the "Going to the Sun" rally in Montana that I think you've been on and not an airstrip run.

    In 2012, Malcolm permitted me to drive one of his treasured vintage cars so I can get a feel for that model before deciding on the purchase of another one. I'm sure he is sincere with his invitation to experience his 599. He is a gentleman and true enthusiast!

    Indeed, a 599 with a speedometer limited to 220 kph would need to be seriously short-geared ;)

    Ross... why not keep the 430 and get the 599...while I have a 599GTO and sold my 430 scud when I bought it.. which I know is a little different but never the less I really like both of the cars and am happy with my decision but if I had it to do over I would have kept both cars .. ...and will likely get another 430scud........
