Biding my time until my 458 order slot comes up. Been told by my dealer a year or so. Meanwhile, local customer sells his '07 Titanium/black 599 to back to dealer. Car has 600 miles, near new condition, loaded w/20" wheels, ceramics, daytonas, interior carbon, etc. Dealer is asking $260K. What is reasonable in this declining market? BTW, car is just out of warranty. Thanks.

The one for which they were asking 219 forever. Anyone should have been able to "save" them at 199.

Gotta makes you wonder what the guy got for it on trade?

...or the Black one at F-Scottsdale? All the way down to 239 and still sitting for a year....

Mark how about the 07 599 that was Vinaccia over Crema with less than 1,000 miles that LFSC had for some time. Any idea what that one went for? It did have the CCB and I seem to recall asking was 260k? Vinaccia is an acquired taste and the Crema looked rather fragile...

Ya, was on consignment for way over a year. Made them a realistic offer and never heard back from them. IMO 190K was all the money at that time. Today, maybe 175K.

There are a LOT of low mileage 599's for sale. Many have been offered for a LONG time.

Personally I think the ebay bid is about right today for that car.. In a year I think the bids will be 50K less for that car.

For the 600 mile car you mention I'd try 195K keeping in mind a year from now with more mileage and many being offered you could be looking at 155K.

As part of your offer, see if they'll throw in a Power Warranty for as long as it takes for your 458 to arrive. Then at least you can drive knowing you won't have any big out-of-warranty expenses.

I've heard of dealers wholesaling just to change inventory. It doesn't look good to have the a vehicle sit in the showroom for a long time. People notice things like that.

edit: I'm not saying that this is the case with these two cars you mentioned.

2007 Rosso 599 with 1225 miles sold at Wholesale Auction for 229k in March 2010
So add 5-8k for dealer profit, that would give you a ball park

Watch the tape. Year old 599s will trade under $200K consistently.

Napolis . . . obviously, we agree on the disconnect. I have a Barchetta (2001); and I drive the daylights out of it--almost 40,000 miles, but maintain it like it is an '85 Margaux (even though some say the '82 is better). I was offered $135,000 in trade. Funny thing, I thought that was probably a very good price. Can you imagine, $135K for a classic, V-12 that is one of less than 500?

So many people buy cars as investments, when they need to be buying cars to enjoy them--that is worth so much more than money. Of course, you take care of them, and of course you try to keep them in perfect condition, but they are going to get rocks thrown from the road to the front--they are going to get paint chips. These add character.

The 599 is a wonderful car, and the fact that the price is falling below $200K does not make it any less wonderful; it's just life.

I totally agree. That's why I drove my TR 155K miles. What is your total cost per mile?

Mine all in was about $2.50 (1988-2000).
