Hi 2 @ I have encountered the following problem and seeking for help from our experts on the board. My 7/2008 599 has received an HGTE-Upgrade (ECU, Suspension) in 5/2010. I have noticed (not sure, if it occured first after installation of the HGTE-Package), that the revs go down very slowly above 4000 rpm if i release the gaspedal. Usually, one does expect enginebraking, if you go stop pushing the gas-pedal, that does not happen anymore instantaniously, but will take about 5 seconds ("the car still pushes"); with the HGTE-Installation came new ECU's for motormanagement and suspension. I have tried allready, to install the new software again, and reset the throttlevalvepotentiometer, unfortunately without success. PLease can any of our experts here chime in with advice what to try/do next? Other than that, the car/engine runs great, it has now covered 35.000 km. Help is greatly appreciated. Kind regards-e
Advice: Take it to an authorized workshop, let an authorized mechanic test the car. Let them diagonse the issue and let them fix it. Not much else to be done. Don't even think about DIY'ing...
+1. The 599 is a completly different ball of wax. The engine managment system is not somthing to attempt to play with at home.
The 599 has fly-by-wire throttles. There is no mechanical throttle cable between the gas pedal and the throttle butterflies. They throttles are opened and closed by the engine management system. If the engine rpm is hanging up when you release the gas pedal, I would say that it is due to the different programming of the HGTE engine management ECU's.
+1 thats what i thought. Must be a software-issue. Has anybody else experienced this phenomena after upgrading to HGTE? Regards-e
