Taz, you are correct. When I was at the Atelier to spec my HGTE they called the engineers to check if the monolithic would go on the HGTE and what the effect would be (because of the wheel with).

They answered me back within minutes that they had no problem putting the challenge wheels on as the overall effect on the car's stability is slim to none.

What's the offset of the Aperta Rims?

I believe the GTO is 9.5 x 20 in the front and 11.5 x 20 in the rear.

Compared to Ferrari's own previous open top creations this is an abomination.
Unless of course, one is so blinkered by teenage-like rose-tinted love for the Ferrari brand that one has ceased to become objective, then I can understand.

M- You are correct about the GTO sizes. I just need to find the offsets.

There is no problem putting the Challenge/monolithics on an HGTE or the HGTE wheels on a normal 599. There is a slight difference in front offsets to make either work perfectly. I would venture to say the GTO wheels would have worked fine on your HGTE as well. Just need to see the offsets to confirm. Should have asked you since you just swapped your GTO wheels. Would have been nice to try that extra set of GTO wheels on your HGTE, as well. I would lean that way if I owned an HGTE.

Offsets on the back of the wheel are where I got my information for the complete wheel list below. Incidentally, the 599 wheels fit a 612 perfectly, as well.

I was wondering how they were going to incorporate the flying buttress onto this, either way it looks drop dead gorgeous!

M- Thanks. Will check with my other sources, but it will be a while before they come up with GTO wheels, I think. Kind of rare.

I think the C pillar/buttress treatment is hinting at what the 458 Spider will look like: The buttress treatment on the SA would correspond to the the air intake behind the 458's door windows...

M- Thanks, it sure does. I will add the GTO wheels to my list.

Based on those offsets, it appears the GTO wheels should fit a 599, as well. Approximately 1/4 inch on the inside of the hub (5.5 mm) and 1 1/4" on the outside wider for the fronts, backs no problem. Just need to make sure there are no rubbing issues on the front wheels at full lock and under compression.
