Is there a "Service Bullitien" for the tappet noise issue? Is there a "Campaign" on that one? I had the fuel pump issue which got repaired but was told that only if the owner complained about it would they fix it. In other words there was no "Official Recall".

no official campaign...the tappet noise issue does not appear to be widespread...our contact of ferrari brought only two 599's to the front on this issue (ironically both were serviced in tampa)...the fuel pump issue does appear to be more widespread...please note that my inquiries led me to believe that a gas cap being left in "non fully closed position" would bring out the same check engine light (I found after a refuel, my cap had not been fully locked, only then was there discovery of the fuel pump issue)....the 612/599 section does not get the same traffic/threads as others, hopefully others will chime in if we can expect other things to pop up so we can document for future repairs

Thanks for the reply. I had a little tapping sound that at first was thought to be the EGR valve. At least that is what was suggested over the phone when I spoke with the Service Manager. However when I brought the car in for the fuel pump issue they could not duplicate the "noise" I was hearing. It only appears when the engine is cold but once the engne warms up for a few minutes it will go away. This is what made them initially think EGR valve because it closes once the engine warms. Howevever I know that if I had a leaky lifter that noise would go away also once the lifter fills with oil after warm up. I am not sure what it is but I continue to watch it and take notes.

    DIFFERENT SYMPTOMs re tappets
my issues presented themselves immediately at start, and would tick faster with higher speeds/accelerations, and vice versa
