599 Spider - some more news coming

I had phone talk with my dealer today. And he told me that 599 Spider will be launched this year or at least during Detroit Auto Show in January 2009. As mentioned our F-chat comrade Mike "icemanbops" my dealer confrimed that everything is almost developed as for now and waitng for the right moment. My dealer told me that we will have sweet shock threat when we will see this car in flesh. Facts:

1) Ultra light unique construction hard top retractable roof. All letest Ferrari achievments used on 575 SA and 612 Sessanta will be used on 599 Spider.

2) 640-650 HP engine.

3) Aproximatly 20-25% price increase to 599 GTB.

My dealer told me that official name for 599 Spider is being unsure as for now, but there are rumors that it will be called 599 GTS or even 599 California Spider as great Ferrari historical Spiders.

Ferrari 599 Spider will be launched as limited edition model and produced in strictly limited numbers, rumored that there will be only 599 units of 599 Spider and hte entire production run will be sold out by the most privileged Ferrari customers.

599 GTB production will continue witout any changes. 599 GTB makeover is planned for late 2009. Apparently there is no information what sort of makeover it will be.

2006 was launch year of the 599 GTB. Makeover in late 2009 or early 2010. In 2010 599 GTB will be four years in production. It is time for makeover to keep demand on high level. I do not think it will betoo early. Only my thoughts. Best.

 

It will be 599 GTB Modificata, not all new model for sure. 4 years in production it is too shrt life cycle for V12 front-engined Berlinetta. Best.

 

My dealer told me that there NO actual photos of next 599 Spider photos. All what you see around the net is just somebody's imaginations and pains to predict how it will look. Best.
