Did all 2008 599's come with carbon ceramic brakes? Did they all have an on board computer/iPod connection? What else was standard? AJ
Yes, ceramic brakes are standard on 2008. No, ipod is an option. There is an standard onboard computer.
Can parking sensors be retrofitted? The car I am interested in does not have them. The only reason I would like to have them is getting in and out of the garage, just to be safe. The car doesnt have sat nav either, but there is always Garmin or Tom Tom.
I believe they can be retrofitted. But it'd be best to check with your dealer to confirm that it can be done, and what it would cost.
The answer to this question for just about any make of car is- yes its possible- but its very expensive. Youll need a new bumper, sensors, probably computer reprogram, etc... Its most likely not worth it.
Maybe it's just me, but I hate the 4 dots on the bumpers that come with the parking sensors. I am very happy that my car does not have them. It wouldn't have been a deal breaker for me but I would never would have ordered the car with them. I know it's only a minor thing but it's the little things that make a difference. The bumper you mentioned about being repainted, wouldn't bother me at all. Almost every F car has or will have the bumper repainted. Good luck with the 599 hunt. I've been keeping a close eye on prices lately and would love to add one to the garage once prices drop a little more.
