Can anyone tell me how to remove the 2 defrost vents at the front of the dash by the windshield. Mine are very sticky and worn looking.
I have tried just pulling or levering them out but they seem "stuck" in, any clips or screws I need to release or remove first? I am hoping I dont need to crawl under the dash.
    Much appreciated,
    Ron

Unfortunately, those are screwed on from the underside of the dash and cannot be removed without the dash removed to my knowledge.

I'm having my dash pulled for a re-wrap in December and I'm replacing the vents with new ones. Yes, the vents go on from underneath the dash.

Ditto the above - my drivers side started to lift on one side, they are held in by screws only accessible from underneath the dash!!

Short of replacing the dash & vents, I was able to remove stickies from the defroster vents of my 612 by careful use of isopropyl alcohol (75%) wipes. Other remedies didn’t seem to work and IPA doesn’t work universally on other sticky surfaces. It did work on sticky speaker covers. I used leatherique to treat the leather on the dash afterwards.

Thanks for the idea, I was planning to do this and use painters tape to protect the leather.
IPA works but is rather slow, I use acetone and a rag - very carefully though, it will discolor leather or remove the white letters and symbols !
Acetone worked great on the panels around the steering column and I was left with a reasonably nice looking base layer of plastic once the sticky black layer was removed.
    Regards,
    Ron
