Hi all, I had a search but couldn't find anything on this - sorry if its something that's already been covered. My 208 599 GTB is displaying a dashboard warning "suspens. control system failure", it was intermitant, but now seems to be permanent. I checked with the foxwell code reader (which is excellent BTW) and the fault code is reported as "C1 202 - Left front solenoid valve". Does anyone have any suggestions for how expensive, complicated or otherwise that is to fix. The car is under warrantee with the dealer I bought it from, but they are a 4+ hour drive away - so if its something simple I would much rather just get on with it! All suggestions would be very welcome! Andy
It sounds like a front shock. You will have to take the bottom front pan off to have a clear look. You could at least start by taking the wheel off and see if the front shock is drastically leaking.
I have a suspension control system failure Codes are C1205,C1206, C1207, and C1208. The autel will read the Delphi module but the readout for the codes only says to refer to service manual. Tried to read codes with the Texa and it doesn’t even show the NSC module (suspension module) on the can bus topography. I checked the equipment list through proxy alignment on the Texa and it says the NCS is absent from the equipment list. Also the system not programmed light does come on during startup. Just want to see if anyone knows what those codes mean so I have a starting point of where to look.
Worth a shot, I have seen for other cars the codes are often for wheel speed sensors but I’d think that if it were wheel speed sensors those codes would be reported in the ABS module which has no codes. I should also mention one of the previous owners put KW coil overs on it. I have verified that the resistors for the magneride connectors are working as they should. Disconnected one and recieved the corresponding solenoid valve fault reconnect and that fault was gone.
Just an update, battery did not change the faults however after further testing i was able to “trade” codes per se. If i unplugged the bypass resistors in the front the C1205, C1206, C1207, and C1208 became stored codes. So instead of having those four I had codes for both front suspension solenoid valves. I reached out to KW and they confirmed that the bypass resistors were not from their kit and that they actually use a can bus module to bypass the magneride. Fingers crossed that installing the correct bypass, or at least more legitimate bypass, solves the issue.
Problem solved! It appears that after further discussion with a KW rep their CAN module replaces the stock suspension module. Followed their wiring instructions and no more suspension control system failure. Their kit actually doesn’t even include resistors to trick the plugs where the stock shocks/struts plug into. I couldn’t tell you why someone was trying to trick it differently than KW intends.
