I'm helping a friend with his 599. His battery died so he used the manual release to open the trunk to access the battery. However, after doing so, the trunk no longer latches when he closes it.

Has anyone experienced this before? I havent had a chance to swing by his home to take a look. But I was hoping I could get some tips or pointers before I head over there. I'm thinking it has something to do with the cable release?

    Thanks in advance

I have seen it before as the secondary release cable is stuck keeping constant pressure on the mechanism keeping it from being able to stay latched... It will be easiest to get to it at the latch in the back to release it...

Happened to me, but wiring shows no power to rear latch and the F38 fuse is fine.Still checking to see how to fix. Only opening trunk with internal release which is a PITA.

In my case the trunk will re-latch when shut but the floor switch release button will not actuate to open the trunk and the cable release must be used.
