That's a mighty confusing title, lol. Does anyone know the 599GTBF Fiorano lap time? Someone has cited a source (telegraph.co.uk) in which they quote a Ferrari engineer as saying the 599GTBF is 2 seconds faster around Fiorano than an Enzo. I simply don't believe this! Can someone help me out?

The Enzo lap time is 1:22, the 575M is 1:31.5, and the F430 is 1:28.5. I believe the 599GTB should slot in at 1:26. It would also make the quote make sense if he was misquoted, because that would be about 2 seconds faster than the F430.

Montezemolo wanted "track performance better than an F40". I don't know if this is what the telegraph was reffering to or not...

    From http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,588-2176796.html

In the hands of Ferrari test drivers, the 599 has lapped Fiorano in a rapid 1min 26.5sec

I first read where it was within 2 seconds of an Enzo (incredible but not impossible) and then the quote above that I do not believe which is 2 seconds faster than an Enzo...

So 1.24 might be the number! damn fast!

Not that I'm an expert or anything, but even with all the tech, I can't imagine the 599, which, relative to the Enzo is a large, heavy coupe lapping that close to the Enzo. When I saw the French roadtest video, to me at least it didn't seem to take a corner with the same fluidity, precision and control as the Enzo, and definitely had much more lean.

All in all though, an awesome car, showing Lambo how its done, after the 550/575, which I don't think was in the same league as the 6.0 SE.

Last week Autocar quoted Benuzzi saying 599 was 1.5 sec slower vs Enzo.
