Never run in the rain or snow.... are these decent all around tires?....suggestions?....I do not track the car just avyearly rally and regular use....
I felt the 4S tires are very hard and loud as the roads here in Calif. Suck....

Thanks for the info....4s is what I have on the car....however they are on national backorder and I really need new tires....my only Michelin choice is their new AW4...all weather tires.....I hope this doesn't turn into a 1700 dollar mistake!

Make sure you are looking at "Tires by Size" not by Vehicle...you won't see the 1-up option otherwise. :)

I ran into the same problem about 6 weeks ago for my 599. After speaking with Michelin directly, and after I applied some pressure, they told me that they are so far behind on "normal" car high production tires, that it could be a year before they get to making small production sizes. They told me they have been getting calls nonstop about "specialty" low production tire sizes (specific makes) and they only get to see the production schedule a little bit out. A week later, I called again to see if I would receive a different story. Well, it took a little bit of the usual "What am I going to do, keep calling to check on production?" bit and then that person finally said don't count on them being available for a year. Two different people, two different dates, same story. Who knows? Could be true or they could be making them right now. But, I had to buy, so a set of Pirellis it was.

The front tires were available, but the rear Pilot Sport 4S 305/35ZR20, was the production issue. Not sure what the status is now.

    John,

For my SL55-AMG and CLS550, I've been using Michelin's Pilot Sport A/S tires for about a decade now. They're superb as far as handling, less road noise and smoothness are concerned. Just ensure your wheel alignment is spot on because if they wear unevenly, especially with scaloping or coping, they can get noisy (for that matter, any tire will do the same).

Michelin does not advertise this fact but Tire Rack has performed many side-by-side tests with Michelin's PS A/S tires against other brands Ultrahigh Perf Summer tires and the Michelin's performed just as good, if not better, in handling. I've even driven them on heavy snow on CA Pearblossom Hwy 138 two winters ago and they held their own!

However, as noted by Jim above, install upsized tires per the sizes he quoted. Even when I switched to Michelin Supersports three years ago on my past 2007 GTB, I couldn't find the 305/ZR-20 sizes anywhere but the 315/ZR-20 was readily available in Ferrari K2 spec.

That's exactly what I'll be doing for my 2011 HGTE when its current Ferrari-spec PZeros wear out or reach 4-years of age, switch to upsized Michelin PS4S tires.

Well......I just had the newest model pilot sport AW4 tires and indeed they are quieter than my 4S tires.... Im sure they will be just fine!....Thanks for everyone's input....I notice there is a lot less interior dash squeals with this softer ride....

    John,

Glad the UHP All Season Michelin's A/S 4 tires worked out for you. Unless you track your car, these tires handle excellently (best in its category per Tire Rack tests) in all sporty dry/wet SoCal conditions.

Remember to maintain your wheel/tire alignment set to factory settings to prevent uneven wear of your tires which could result in 'howling'. It's happened to my CLS550 when I got lazy and didn't get the front alignment reset when new A/S 4's were installed in 2019. Then the pandemic closures occurred while I kept driving the car long distances. Now there's an annoying howl from unevenly worn fronts! I suppose that goes for all types/brands of tires anyway.
