I got the 599 after a massive service and to celebrate we went for the holy trinity Susten, Grimsel, Furka, my photographer friend took his gear and made this picture.
The car got the valve cover gaskets changed and while in there we decided to do the expensive solenoids, it’s an overkill I know but i had a little bit of oil in the connectors already.
We decided to change also all 24 injector sealing rings, I had one spark plug connector that was melted, very easy to find a spare online, spark plugs, all liquids in the car were changed, accessory belt and pulleys. Prior to this my diff was unhappy, any turn left or right from a standstill would make it grip too much, now it’s perfect, my garage added a special additive but they told me my oil was not looking good to start with and that’s probably the reason
I have also added the rare hgte exhaust, could not be happier with this, valve closed you will not hear the difference but valve opened it’s another car.
To finish a nice polishing and ceramic coating. I can only recommend this, washing the car after the coating is fantastic.
    Cheers

Brave to do the Splugen pass in the 599... I drove it a long time ago in late September just before it was closed for the winter...and it was an experience. We had all 4 seasons in about 2 hours. started off in Chur it was warm and sunny, by the time we go to the Italian Border it was 2 inches of snow and icy... back in Italy it was a mild overcast fall day.... at some of the turns I could not see the road for more than 1 meter ahead. ....

I live in south Germany, so i have about 150 Km to Chur, San Bernardino and Splügen only some more Km.
I have the advantage, that i can plan such 1 day trips very spontaneous, choosing days in September/Oktober with good weather.
You can see the sky from these both trips, clear blue without any cloud.
But you are right Tom, in the alps weather changes quick sometimes.

I had about 8-9 wonderful 1 day trips through the alps the last 15 years, some with my 550, some with my (ex) 599 and also with my Ghibli.
Memories that you will never forget.

Time to plan a trip with my 812 SF.

The 612 "ugly duckling" just looks better and better with every passing year.
