Anybody interested in an informal get together in Indianapolis during the USGP? Likely Saturday night would be the best.

    Sure, I am always interested.

I've heard FCA may have some social events planned but haven't seen anything on their website as yet.

I have 2 extra tickets. Northwest vista section 4 row X. Face value $85...any offers?

Will there still be a Ferrari concours on Friday downtown?

I also have two extra tickets in the Paddock grandstand, but some of us are putting together a plan to give away those extra tickets to some disadvantaged kids. If any of you wish to join in..........

Yes, it's called The Gathering at the Circle. see www.fca-cic.org for more info. It's a 'must do' event for Tifosi!

In the past several friends and I have gathered at St Elmo's for drinks and dinner. Last year a few drivers and team owners showed up which added to the atmosphere.

OK, we've done a formal gathering each of the past 4 years, but because of problems with commitments, no shows, under pays, and contracts we'll just do "informal" gatherings now. My group from Texas goes to the FCA monument circle show on Friday night, then we stay downtown at the bars and eat. So for this year how about meeting at a bar following the show? That won't require reservations or any contracts.

What is a good bar downtown with plenty of walk up room? Closer to Monument Circle the better. Last year we were at Alcatraz Brewery. Anything better?

Also, our group has 5 extra tickets cheap if anyone interested, please see my thread in Racing section.

The Palimino is just 2 doors north of St. Elmo's. Big bar, great food. There was another brew pub that was huge on an east west street just south of the monument. Local help please.

Nicky Blaines is a good idea...its a martini bar, but no food. If everyones looking for dinner I would recomend some place else. If a quiet place for drinks and conversation is perfered this maybe it. Really there are several bars, pubs, etc within walking distance of the circle. Price and group size makes a difference.

The other brew pub? I think you are talking about Rock Bottom Brewery...good food and drinks, nice bar, crowded sometimes on Fridays though. Better beer than Alcatraz, IMO. Martinis too. St. Elmo's is good, a few blocks further away from the Circle, pricey and smallish but intimate.

We're looking for something that could handle 20-30 people around the bar. Food not necessary, at least appetizers though. Martini bar is fine as long as they also have beer.

Heck, each year we've hit the hotel bar there on the corner (by Starbucks) and it is always empty with plenty of room. Maybe we should do that because close, easy to find, appetizers, and plenty of room being just a hotel bar. The goal is just a quick 1-2 hour FerrariChat meet up since many of us will be down there at the show anyway.

Are you talking about the Starbucks down the street, or the one around the corner in Borders Books, or the one when you turn left from there that has a Starbucks inside a Starbucks.

Hmm, the road that goes straight North from Monument Circle. First intersection, right on the SW corner. What is the name of that hotel? Bar is also on that corner.

    Hello all,
I am a newbie to the site, but not to Ferrari lust. I live in Indianapolis and am going to the USGP. If anyone needs logistical help, please let me know.

I am in a position to buy my first used Ferrari. Probably looking at 355 (lower priced one) or earlier. I would love to pick anyone's brain at the Friday gig or other time on the goods and the bads of the various models and model years. I have posted a similar thread on the 355/348 forum. I used to race formula cars -- both as driver and crew chief. My first car was an Alfa Guilia (age 18) followed by 3 more Alfas (the poor person's Ferrari). I am looking forward to meeting more Tifosi.

Looks like we are talking Friday night around 6PM somewhere off the Circle.

From that we can come with a concrete idea for Saturday. I think more people will be in town on Saturday. I can not remember the name of the blues/jazz/rock bar I went to before, live music, decent food.

I think so. The place I went to had many different rooms, multiple bars. If it were not downtown, and in the distant 'burbs, you would see Earl Hickey at the bar and not an F1 fan.

Does that sound like the Slippery Noodle?
