    Hi gents,

This is my first thread, I am a fan of 00's cars and trying to gather the best cars of this specific era with lowest possible mileage.
From the following 4 cars which one would you trade against another? which 5th car would you add to this beginner's collection?
    1993 850 CI (Manual transm. 62k kms)
    2003 E39 M5 92 kms
    2002 550 (tdf, 26k kms)
    2003 SL55 amg (90k)

    996 Turbo

I would trade away the Mercedes first

Since you're a fan of '00s cars I'd get rid of the BMW (even though I really like that car), otherwise the SL55.

IMO your ideal car to own should be the Challenge Stradale, but I'm of firm opinion that the 550 and CS combined are a near ideal 2 car garage. With the E39 M5 that only improves things.

In the states, the SL55 is by far the least collectible.

And the 8 series is your big comfy cruiser.

I think the CS would be a great addition, but 5X the price of of a 996T.

The sl is my most recent buy and one of my childhood dream, I ll hold on to it for a while... the cs is not easy to find here and for that it should be around 200k... 996 seems to fit but thats one ugly car...

    Choices, choices..

2000s allows you plenty of choice, depending on budget.

    997 GT3 (or 996 GT3 RS) or GT2
Aston DB7 Vantage or DB9 or Vanquish or..
    BMW E60 M5 V10 or M6 V10 or Z3M S54
Ferrari 430 manual/Scuderia (430 manual more fun than Scud or CS, according to me)
    612/599
    Gallardo Superleggera
    and so much more!
I'd swap the 850 for a CSi if you can find one, or the Alpina version; and the SL55 for the F1 edition, or for one of the above...choices...

depends on what you like but cant really go wrong with a 911 if you have never had one. The 996 Turbo is still a good deal . but the better car would be a 997 turbo or turboS. or for that matter a GT3.
I have found the 911 to be a very reliable easy to drive fast car that never goes old styling wise.
to me its all about what you like

I owned a 997.1 4S and a 997.1 turbo cabriolet... Did not think they were special enough to keep... But I definitely will be hunting for a 997 996 gt3/gt2 eventhough they are not so easy to find... what do you think of the 996tt Gemballa? Does it have collectible value like the Ruf?
All csis and the only e31 alpina here are very high mileage, so out of my range...

Aston and lambo are the 2 brands very far from taste (except the dbs maybe)

I'll throw my vote in with the Aston Vantage. That would be a nice flavor variation in your mix.

And the E46 BMW M3 CSL (paddle shift only) or CS, shares same wider track, available in manual. Definitive 00s BM. Maybe last great M car.

Everyone might poop on the 996 Turbo, but that's a hell of a car for the money, headlights or not. And darn reliable, too.

S54 is not the CSL engine, it's the standard E46 M3 engine, detuned. Z3M with a CSL engine would be fun, but they never made one.

Precisely. An S54 with a CSL factory lump. This is what I've had done to mine.
