Both excellent points I hadn’t considered, and have no knowledge of. Just a lot of blame, including most headlines, jump straight to tire warmers.

Except Bourdais said on Twitter that current tyres are not designed for use without tyre warmers... Because ACO and Michelin didn't agree on timing.
LMP2 and GTE were much faster in out laps.

I think that if they want the best cars to win Le Mans, they should rescind the ban on tire warmers. That could be a dangerous place on cold tires.

 

It would be epic if Kolles trolled "the biggest race in the world" winning in the 100th anniversary.
