6 inch velocity stacks on a 512BB?

I want to install 6 inch tall velocity stacks on my carb 512, yes these will stick through the decklid plan on taking the black covers off and making a clear rounded plastic cover for them similar to the 250TR hood. Would need some socks or covers for them to keep dirt out of the motor but was wondering if velocity stacks this tall would create any tuning issues such as flat spots or leaness for the motor. This in addition to my 12 x 15 factory rear race wheels and Goodyear Blueatreaks race tires should complete the look I am after.
