Great looking rig man , GLWS
Seth, I'm very interested in your 430 but wasn't able to send you a PM. If the car is still available, please let me know. You can reach me at 909.896.1333 or [email protected] - Thanks! Look forward to hearing from you...
How many people have tried to message this guy and he doesn't respond, imagine if you gave him a deposit.
It's an avg price not a great one, and some people don't check the listings once they sell the car, or may be occupied with something other than a car forum on the internet. Just a couple of thoughts.
Just because someone doesn't answer a pm or e-mail does not make it a scam. Some people are just very busy.
Not a scam. I spoke to him on PM already. He has a deal in hand and many back-ups if first buyer falls thru. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
With cars like Ferrari and lambo it's small variances, options, rarity, number of specific series produced, and provenance that carry most weight. The fact that the gated shifter is no longer is a cross-factor creating importance in several of these categories. It's a huge deal because that was a hallmark of Ferrari's for the past 60 or so years, essentially marking a significant bookmark in the car maker's journey.
The ironic thing is even if Ferrari brought back the manual as an option, still probably 98% of new car buyers would go with the F1. I think the demographic of new Ferrari buyers just favors the latest and greatest technology, where perhaps a much smaller group of long term enthusiasts appreciate the manuals.
I'm looking for a late model Ferrari with a gated shifter just like this one. I see there are already several offers ahead. I hope the new owner is an enthusiast not a dealer that's looking to mark it up for resale. I want a manual not because they're no longer made. I enjoy driving stick shift and I don't enjoy the F1; maybe because I never got use to it or maybe because I don't do track days. If I hit the track, I'm sure I'd want an F1 or dual clutch but for street driving, I don't get the same enjoyment. If Ferrari builds a 458 version that's gated, it would be my dream. For now my dreams end with the 430. Good luck to the new owner of this beautiful car. And if he/she doesn't follow through, or if anyone has a line on a similar one, please let me know.
Just put a deposit down today on a 06 F430 Spider Nero/Tan with 6sp gated trans. Been looking for over 6 months, and 2 PPI's later with no luck. I think this is the one with only 5,800 miles. Let's hope I get back a clean PPI. Been very patient and received a lot of Intel from this group.
Good luck. They are worth the wait and effort. Just popped mine out of winter storage. Smiling before the garage door closed.
I'd wager the majority of new buyers favor status, not technology. They are not true car guys and many probably can't even drive a manual. I've even had ferrari mechanics and sales people tell me this based on their observations.
Good point about status. There seems to be such a big discrepancy between what most new Ferrari buyers look for vs. used buyers. Same thing even in the collector car market these days, how many of those buyers are now buying for investments vs. actually being a true car enthusiast that really wants the car.
I was able to find one on cars.com. I must have checked every Ferrari or exotic car outlet for over 6 months, then someone on FChat found one on autotrader so I decided to check myself. What I noticed is that most private sellers will use Dupont Registy or some high end car site like it but smaller dealers will use autotrader/cars.com and their cars are often priced behind the curve as their cars might be on consignment and not actually owned by the dealers. I was able to find an 06 f430 spider, 5.8k, with nice options (manual trans) for just under $140k. 1 owner car on consignment at a small dealer in a high net worth area. My point, if your looking for a manual trans car there very few out there (good ones) so you need to look everywhere. I found an 07 at a MB dealer a few months back that had just been traded in for an SL, wrong color for me (silver) 9k, was offered for $145k on autotrader, sold in one week.
