Its not a 288 as Joe said, its one of those rebodied 308.

 

If you look closely, yuo can see that it is not a genuine GT0, but instead a rebuild of kit parts and some much younger machinery, probably based on a 355!

Yes, could be a 355 drive-train, look at the gearbox from behind on the pictures you find on the first link - not 308 or 328, and definitely not 288!

No one at 6 speed to notice it wasnt a GTO... How can they identify a 997 from a 993 then . Jk .

The car was built for a norwegian, but has Great Britain licenseplates in the pics, so are probably no longer i Norway.

 

That car looks extremly cool. With that TT355 engine I bet that car goes as good as it looks.

--Take 1 x 'garden variety' 308 that has perhaps seen better days

--Slap GTO body on

--Do whatever else you like to it, that you ordinarily wouldnt dream of doing to a real GTO

 

IIRC there was an interior photo of a Japanese 288GTO (probably a replica) with a 355 F1 gearbox.
