It's 6 years this month since I purchased my 95 F355 spider so I though I would go over necessary repairs to keep it running smoothly over those 6 years. I' ma not including fluids and filter or other ordinary maintenance that would be necessary on any car. This just for "rerpairs".

    1) Coolant temperature sensor, $17. --- When I bought the car I found it had a bad 1-4 coolant temp sensor. Replaced.

    2) CV boots, $40 --- Also when I bought the car. PPI missed a small hole in the right side boot. Unfortunately I replaced it with a Superformance boot which only lasted through last year. This spring I replaced the RHS boot again and also the LHS with correct Porsche boots (2000 Boxster). All total, about $40.

    3) Oil pressure sender, $76. The second year I owned the car I noticed erratic oil pressure readings. I replaced the sending unit. Problem solved.

    4) Ignition coil, $56 --- I was having an intermittent misfire on the 1-4 bank back in '16 or '17. Found intermittent spark on 2 cylinders (wasted spark ignition). Replaced coil. Fixed.

    5) O2 sensors, $120 --- I was getting a Lambda control CEL on 1-4. After checking everything I decided to replace the 1-4 O2 sensor. Fixed. Last years I was getting an intermittent Lambda control CEL on 5-8. Checked things and decided to replace the 5-8. Unfortunately it did not fix the problem. A waste of $60.

    6) 5-8 MAF, $275 --- The 5-8 lambda control issue continued. Then it because a rough idle, poor throttle response issue associated with 5-8. Dicking around with the car I got it to throw another code, Bad MAF signal. Ultimately this required replacing the 5-8 bank MAF which resolved the 5-8 lambda CEL issue. I could have bought one from NAPA for $125 but opted for a Bosch remanufactured unit which are a little more expensive.

So that totals about $588. Less than the annual fluids changes cost. Not to bad for a notoriously unreliable car. Heck, I may even spring for a belt swap in a couple of years. I figure somewhere between 7 and 10. o_O:)

Ferraris are a bargin if you DIY but don't discount your time invested. I lost track of the hours upon hours I have in doing this 348 major. I got a 2ft by 3ft box of removed parts and such I have replaced on the car. I still have another days worth of labor to go.

    9000.

Oh, I for got one thing. Back in '17 the engine would break up at 4400 RPM like it hit a rev limiter. It was a real bear to find. Turned up to be a wire from the 1-4 bank crank sensor that broke at the crimp in the connector. Cost to repair, $0.00, but about 20 hours of testing and head scratching. Tugged on connector a few time and continuity was fine. I had to pull the pins from the connector and pull a little on each wire. The insulation of the signal wire stretched like a piece of over cooked spaghetti.

Car had a major when I bought it. Part of the deal. I've visually inspected the belts, for what that's worth.

Belts usually aren’t the issue. It’s the rollers and tensioners that are.

Did the belts on my 308 the first at 25 years/27k miles. I was thinking of doing them again this year but they are only 9 years old.
