I am awaiting my 2024 Roma. The invoice came in and turns out the “black” car cover that the dealer told me was a no cost option is $6000. I certainly don’t want a $6000 car cover, what do I do? I feel like the dealer should give it to me or exchange it for the no cost cover. Thoughts?

Suggest you speak with your SA and remind them what they represented to you as fact which turned out to be false. Hopefully you have documentation attesting to that?

Yes my SA said it was his mistake maybe they would sell it at cost. I don’t want to pay extra for a cover that the color really didn’t make a difference to me and I could’ve gotten for free.

The no-cost red cover that comes with Ferraris like my Portofino is just a dust cover designed for indoor use only.

My vehicles are stored and I only need a dust cover

Maybe you can buy it at cost and also negotiate with the dealer for some other concessions like free transport to and from for the annual service, etc.

I would not buy it at cost, I would ask for the no-cost red cover and let them sell it to someone else at retail. Or mark up a used car $6k and include it then.

Red cover comes with it but SA asked if I wanted a black cover. He thought it was a no cost option but come to find out when the invoice came to them it’s $6000!

It's been discussed in other threads, but no pictures. Quick search shows me https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/6-grand-for-a-car-cover.684706/.

Specifically: "Believe he ordered option COVC which on the Roma Spider price sheet is $5,906. Description says "TELO COPRIAUTO (CAR COVER)". I have been wondering what this option is as well given dealer says the cars still come with the standard red cover." This is from 2022 and the OP never updated.

Well , I guess in this case a picture would be worth a thousand words. So far pictures have been elusive and I can’t wait to see it.

Just another way Ferrari is keeping margins on its cars above 45%. Crazy pricing but they know some people don’t care about the price and have to have it at any cost.

I would tell them to keep the cover and do whatever they want with it.
$6k is not just stupid, but bats**t crazy.

It’s probably exactly the same as the red cover, but black.

That's another example of preposterous pricing by Ferrari - I wonder when most potential customers will not want to put up with such practices.
So far they certainly lost some customers, but they still have more than enough, so they think it's not time to care about it.

You should go on the 296 forum to get an answer to that question. There are 170 296 GTB’s for sale and nothing is moving. There are brand new (or nearly new) cars at $50-$75k below MSRP with no takers.
