I know that this has probable been asked before but... looking into buying a 612 (currently own a 308) and looking for a bigger, newer car. Was looking at 430s but once I sat on the 612, it felt right for me... more "grown up" if you may. Likely will be putting in about 3-5k miles per year but just beginning my search and looking for info (ie best years, things to avoid, valuable options, pricing, etc). Any help is greatly appreciated.

Look for a car that has had the clutch position sensor recall done, low mileage cars are more likely to develop leaks, color is a huge factor in pricing, and they are awesome cars. I will send you a PM about mine.

They are wonderful cars! I would take any paint bubbles you might find very seriously. And at least the OTO cars (maybe all 612s?) have a campaign for the fuel level sensor. If you fill the car up with gas and the gauge reads empty, that's a sign you need it done.

Dealer has a brand new 2008 612 which listed at about $340k for $259k. The car has about 125 miles on it. Was titled by the dealer. I know these cars get hit with a lot of depreciation does this price seem in the "ball park"

From what I have seen that price is maybe a bit high, as you can find them with low miles, ( 3000 range) for closer to $220,000 range asking. I'm looking for a nice low mileage one too, but hope to get one for near $200K. Maybe dreaming but I'm a real buyer and most do not seem to be selling at the higher asking prices, so I can wait to see if they come down any. And I don't think they are holding their value that well from the big drop so far. Even older ones are not selling at much lower prices, in the $120-30 range with no takers.
I assume you are looking at the silver one?

Actually a friend of mine is looking at this one. I have a 430 and not a big fan of the 612. Like the 599 but then again I have no kids and he does. Thanks for the info.

I bought a 612 one year ago and have put on 5000 miles since as my #1 daily driver. Car #2 is a 2009 Mercedes G55 AMG. After 2 Porsche Carrera's, 2 Porsche Turbo's, a Mercedes SL55 AMG my wife told me to step it up and get a 612. It is hands down the best car I have ever owned. ZERO trouble and I mean ZERO trouble. It is better than a Bentley GT regarding comfort and exclusivity and better than a Porsche Turbo while driving on public roads. Going into a curve, down shifting and feeling the precision of the suspension is like the perfect carved turn while skiing. The 612 is deceivingly agile and very easy to drive for a real world 2+2. Starting the car is a trip. The starter sounds like an airplane and when you are idling the sound of the air being sucked into the air boxes is very dramatic.

If there is a downside, I have not found it yet. Maybe it's that a 612 is not a track car or that it is too understated for some people.

I have dabbled with the idea of a 812 for a while. For me, the HGTC package is a must

I own the 612 HGTC - agree entirely with the prior post that. I trade cars every 12 months and tried really hard to satisfy my fix this year. I came up short as nothing and I mean nothing could compete with the 612.

    F599 = no , Scud = no , F430 = no , Bentley = no x 2! I went to Lambo's = no

It may be understated at a stop light - but rest assure when I want it to be overstated it is just a matter of opening up the Sports Exhaust at 3-4,00 rpm's.

Thanks for all your thoughts and input guys... The more I talk with owners of 612s the more that it seems that it's the right car for me.

I bought a red 2006 612 about 2 months ago. Why is Ferrari red a relatively rare color? It looks so much more wild next to all the grays/silvers/blacks.

Now my next question... what is a reasonable price for a 2005-2006 car with <15000 miles? Looking at ebay / ferrari / dupont registry they seem to be all over the place from the 120's to the 160's. Any input as always is appreciated.

The 120's have more miles and are less desired color combinations. Lets face it mine listed for over 300 - so does the guy selling it really care if he gets 130 or 145? Someone already lost 150+ what's another 10?

My 06 was made in late December so the warranty is almost out, which I think has a value to the buyer.

I have been looking for sometime and watched the 612 take a BIG hit on cost. The 05-06's with 15K or less are selling between $125-$140K for the high all services 06 and $105K-$125K for the 05's

I had shopped around to see what was out there the past month, got good input from forum, decided to buy a 2008 612 OTO car last week, 1900 miles. Will arrive later this evening for New Years, No drinks tonight!

Silverstone/cuoio, after almost buying a black one, but decided black is just not for me.
There are a few nice OTO cars out there, seem to be in the $225+K range for low mile cars, $205+K range for non OTO cars, but I liked the glass roof, new steering wheel and ceramic brakes and Challenge wheels.
Has Daytona seats, yellow calipers, tach and shields, carbon fibre sills, cuoio dash and rear shelf.

Had the same dilemma while looking for a daily driver last Spring.
Love the 612 but decided on a Speed with CCBs,since AWD is a must in a performance car when driving in Chicago's nasty Winter.

Flipping it already? Are you a broker? Car sounds nice in your ad, though pics would be helpful.

Not a dealer, just have an opportunity to buy a 458 that came just after I bought the 612, so only reason for sale. Someone can get a good deal on a literally brand new car. Warranty on the 612 is good for two full years yet, and an OTO car at a good price.

I'll take your spot for the 458 for $100!
How in the world does somebody get into a 458 right now?
I am being told that they are years out from delivery.

You have to be a good customer I guess, just luck that I have the opportunity.
I'm sure after the initial demand they will be easy and readily available after the roadster is out too. Will be a premium to be early.

Then you are not in US obviously (your quoted 612 prices look like US market).
There are no 458s in States anywhere for anyone, regardless of how famous or how many Ferraris you bought or Felisa was your Godfather.
