Does anyone have experience on the clear bra installations for a 612? Would the whole front end need to be done and if so how does it look? If it works it would seem like the entire hood needs it.
I have also heard it can be installed on windshields.

    Any thoughts and practical experience?

    thanks,
    John

Have it on the 599 (on bumper and part of the hood). I highly recommend it.

It saved countless stone chip and you'll never notice it unless you look for it.

3M - I covered the front bumper / partial hood / lower painted bottom area / mirrors / door handles / headlights and rear trunk area - if you cover the whole hood you must use Venture shield which I thought may look better but it's a thinner material. Some people mix n match the two products. Make sure you get someone who has done Ferrari's prior.
    Trust me on that one!

Hey John. Where are you located at? We may be able to direct you to a quality installer near you that can speak with you about it or show you some work. No matter what model it is you cant go wrong with the full hood and full fenders. Will give you the cleanest look and great protection.

    Located in Arizona, near Scottsdale/Phoenix.

Are there any great differences in the 3M vs. Ventureshield?

I am thinking about the whole front end, all of hood and front fenders on 612. Any suggestions?
Also are there drawbacks to doing it on a black car?

I've seen the 3M installation on a black car and it is slightly more noticeable.

I did it on the front bumper up to the hood, but not the hood itself. It's pretty much invisible.

Guys, I am interested in getting this done also on an 05 612 that I just bought. Can anyone give me a rough idea of the costs of getting the entire front end done.

Go to the best there is - and someone that has wrapped Ferrari's prior. Those pointy front end corners are very difficult to wrap. Front only should be 500 ish

I had the dealer have the bra installed on my OTO 2008 car before delivery. It turned out poorly as the installer did not cover areas of the 'leading' edges of the front, wavy cut lines, etc, so it was redone here in Arizona at dealer expense. Protective Film Solutions did it, they do many high end cars and know what they are doing. On redo they used 3M as Ventureshield does not work well in the heat. Did the headlights too and door edges, mirror fronts and areas just in front of rear wheels where it falres out a bit. The newer 3M product looks good and does not have the orange peel look of the earlier stuff. May go back and have the entire hood done just for added protection. Went to just back of the headlights for now. Line is not very visible but is seen, full hood would eliminate part of that.

Also they have new acrylic product to do the windshield, so will do that too, in AZ the windshields get sand blasted just from normal use.

Has anyone had the issue of the inside of the headlight covers getting dust/haze inside them? When the car is clean, those are not and seem to affect the headlights when on, just a haze on the inside. I've been told the complete units have to be replaced at about $3K each. Glad I have a warranty. Ferrari rep has to see them before anything can be done. All cost was $900 but that included removal of the bad application too.

Thanks! Here are the pictures. It's a 2005 model. My first Ferrari, I absolutely love the car. Bought it from Ferrari Maserati Long Island. Good sales process, after sales follow-up has been a bit spotty though. Still sorting through a few items that went missing during the prep for delivery.

I am looking to learn a lot from you guys and will keep you all posted as I drive the car more! I am so glad I found this forum......
