    Hi there, I have a front end mechanical rattle that sounds like a vw beetle engine. It continues even wirh no accelerator pressed. The slightest of press on the brake pedal and it stops. It is driving me crazy and my mechanic has not diagnosed this issue yet. Has anyone come across this before?

    The sound was not as loud as VW Beetle, but i once had a strange sound on my Aston Martin Vanquish which had CCM brakes / floating calipers.
    When simply in neutral and rolling forwards the rear calipers would make a " click clack " noise on rotation, press the brakes and it would stop.
    Had the car into my local AM dealership and they said all was fine and it was due to the design of the floating caliper system as it allows some movement of the brake disc.
    Sometimes it was there and other times i could here nothing.
