I ran out of gas in my 612 yesterday....after I figured out it was out of gas...I looked at the gauge and it said 3/4 full. After filling it up with 28 gallons it still said 3/4 full.....anyone this a gauge issue or a fuel sending unit issue? Any ways to check?

I filled up last night--it was on 1/4 full and I put ~22 gallons, and the guage said full when I left.

I have heard of someone (on here, I think) who had a sending unit problem.

Mine has never given me any trouble, although after I fill up it doesn't always read full until I've driven a little bit. I've never had a problem with it reading on the low end. It also has a low fuel light (and even says something on the display?) although I don't know if that uses a different sender than the gauge.

It was me that had the sending unit problem. Mine would over read when brimmed full and then show a CEL failure and the fuel gauge would show completely empty till you'd gone a few miles and then it would go all the way up to "nearly full".
