Now that the FF comes to the marketplace (deliveries starting in a few months), what do you think about the future value of the existing 612? Would it go down and be more affordable (replaced by FF) or does it have room for price increases (the last of the 2+2 with a more "typical" Ferrari design)?

It will certainly go down, just like any other 2+2 built before the FF (and the FF itself will no doubt go down the same way, once its replacement arrives). So, good news for the enthusiast with a smaller budget.

There is only one way: Down. 2+2s don't hold value. 612s will be no different, even though the FF may be deviation for Ferrari.

There has not been a modern, mass produced Ferrari that has not depreciated. When you consider the 2+2s were the top end of the range in price, they had the furthest to drop. The 456M GTA cost more than the 575M and the 612 cost more than the 599. That is being reversed with the FF and 599 replacement.

Hard to believe the 250 GTE/330 GT 2+2 cost more than a Lusso, but they did. More stuff.

As I understand it the FF is not the replacment for the 612. While it is a new model the news is that Ferrari will be creating a replacement for the 612 in the next year.

Still the 612's will flaten out on price--earlier models have slowed however the 1 to 1's and later models will see a big drop as we know.

I remember reading some conflicting messages regarding this back in March but in all respects it is the replacement for the 612. If I evey find the article I will post it.
    So back to your question:
My take is that very late 612's will drop fast over the next 2 years, the 05-06 have aleady taken the hit and are in an attractive price range. They are a great value!

I agree with Bayarea. I think the 612s will bottom at some point. Although this is my 1st Ferrari so I dont have years and years of experience tracking models, but I have a good example for you

I was tracking Bently GTs for a while before I decided to take the jump and go 612. The Bentlet CGT prices bottom at around 70-80K (with a good amount of miles). They dont seem to go under that figure. Seems also to be the case for the Ferrari 360s, you just dont see $50k 360s anywhere (maybe there is and I havent seen it).

I think the 612s will end around 100K. I think its a comparable for the CGT (both with 4 seats and V12s), but the 612 definitely commands a premium being its a Fcar.

Before I bought mine, there was a 612 w/ 30K miles on ebay for 99K. I actually found a FL car who the owner was willing to sell to me for 92K. Before I could jump on it,a local boutique dealer offered him 95K sign unseen and it was gone. Granted, both cars here, we are talking 30K mile cars

Granted, I could totally be wrong.
