Bought an 05 F1 612. It drives great except that when under full acceleration in the upper rpms shifting from 3rd to 4th gear it goes into neutral. Shifts perfectly otherwise. Any ideas?

Possible clutch wear issue, or clutch sensor. They have been having a lot of problems with those of late. you need a specialist or dealer to look at it with an SD3 diagnostic unit.

It is probably the clutch wear sensor. Shifting into neutral is symptom that the clutch is reaching the end of its service life. I believe the sensor is somewhat adjustable and will start doing this with about 60% wear.

Jeff- The clutch sensor is not adjustable.

F40- Like Eddie, said, first thing to do is go to a shop that can do an SD3 check and try resetting PIS if nothing else is wrong. There was a factory campaign to replace the clutch position sensor with a new one on early 612s. You might check and see if yours was done and if not try and convince Ferrari to do it. If the sensor is bad and has to be changed, you might as well put in a new clutch at the same time, because the clutch has to be removed to install the sensor.
