Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login I thought these were pretty cool pictures demonstrating the temperature extremes that we deal with in some parts of the country. Not something that Ferrari owners in Florida and California need to worry about!

Needless to say, the 612 performed well in extreme heat and extreme cold. Even though the roads were dry, I was still a little nervous at 16 degrees!

Ambient temperature certainly had an effect on oil and water temp.

Anyone have a larger Delta T?

I'm curious about the tires on your car. Do you have two sets, summer/winter? Running Max Performance Summer tires like Pirelli P Zero in very cold temperatures could be risky. This from Tire Rack:

Pirelli's warranty does not cover tires that develop compound cracking due to use in ambient temperatures below 45° Fahrenheit (7° Celsius), so the P Zero, like all summer tires, is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

I have P-Zeros on the car. The photo at 16 degrees was taken during a 5 mile trip on dry roads between my home and the garage where I keep the car over the winter. I just thought it was a fun picture since most of us (FF and GTC4Lusso owners being the exception) have not seen a number that low on their temperature display.

You are correct, though. Driving routinely at such low temperatures on summer tires would be a bad idea.

Tires warm up if not forced to drive through snow or slush.

The 612 will tell you what the tire temperatures are, in real time.

Not extreme temperature (although that was pretty hot for New Hampshire), but I snapped this because of the mileage, and 66 mph in 6th with temp at 96.

I haven't been out at 16 but at 38 the car made very nice power and tires where easily the limiting factor. No way a good combo for a spirited ride. Cheers Chris for the post!
