I looked at the listing, but I'm a little skeptical for a variety of reasons.

I mean no offense to your friend, but I just question how he could be selling this so cheaply. The original price for this set in Europe was 8687 euros. (see Taz's post #2 https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/612-599/501102-612-oto-options-list.html).

Now they are not making any more sets, and you can't order it from Ferrari so it is even more rare. Why is it being sold for only 4612 euros, basically half price? Certainly it is possible, but I always rely on the old saying, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is".

I'd love to acquire this luggage, but there are a couple current threads where members have paid for F parts that never arrived and they are out the money. Not to mention eBay is infamous for scams or the sale of stolen goods, especially when prices are well below anything reasonable.

Not that there is anything wrong here, but I would err on the side of caution.

Ferrari luggage Sets sell arround € 3-5k regardless their original list price.
I have bought the 6 pieces nos set (incl the yellow bags and wrapped in bubble foil)for my 612 in "Cuio" 2 years ago from an official Ferrari dealer for € 1.500 (inkl. VAT) Ehen they cleared their stock.

The only Thinge is, they are so rare and beautiful, that you would never User them...

The price is reasonable for the aftermarket and despite how nice these things are there is not a huge market for them and the colors make them very much more car specific. So the colors divide the small market even more so. Then of course, clearly some wouldn't use eBay and most owners don't play here, so finding a venue to sell isn't easy as well for the average seller.

This seller has sold his set, and his feedback is 100%, so I'd have trusted this sale. Plus, eBay provides a buyer's guarantee that would pay you if you never saw your product.

I think whoever bought the set did real well.

I have followed a number of posts by Michel (swiss612). I can tell he's a good guy. If he says the person selling the luggage is reliable and trustworthy (which he has done twice) that would be good enough for me. For me the whole idea of the Forum is to identify people who I can trust and go from there. For example, if Taz said something, you would totally rely on it wouldn't you?

Turns out this was legit - it came in 2 boxes. This is 4 pieces of the set. There are also two larger matching suitcases. I think it will compliment my 2010 TDF/Tan 612 well.

I would also be interested in some photos and the asking price if the luggage is still available.
