A pic of the odo on my 612 OTO (also known as the Notta Sessanta), as well as a few other pointless photos. Car is pozzi over cuoio, with carta da zucchero inserts and dash. Thanks to Ralph at FoW, as always, and also Brian for dealing quickly with all the usual "new Ferrari" issues.

Had it for a few days, so it's already up to 200 miles.

The point of this post: having put 22,000 miles on a Quattroporte in less than a year, I immodestly believe I will, in the next 12 months, put more miles on a 612 than anyone anywhere. Challengers?

Beautiful! I put 1500 miles on my car in 2 weeks, but that was in Europe and I think the pace will be slowing a bit.

There is a guy in the Northwest section who got one of the early 612s in 2005, and put over 40,000 miles on it in two years. Gives you something to shoot for!

beautiful car man! pozzi/cuoio is a timelessly classic combination.

I seem to recall someone posting on this site a while back (last summer?) about a cross-country trip in their 612, so they certainly get driven. Maybe you could start a trophy for documented mileage in a calendar year by a single owner, like the P4 that's getting mailed around and photographed in odd locations.

    Beautiful car!! Congrats!

I'm just wondering though, why didn't you get the handling package with the sport exhaust? The 612 sounds AMAZING withe the factory sports exhaust.

:) An excellent challenge - I just bought an 08 (a couple of pics attached) which had accumulated a whole 321 miles in its previous owner's hands since March. I added 1,000 miles since last Tuesday when I picked it up. Boston - NJ Motorsports Park - Hamptons - Boston. We even brought it on the ferry from Orient Point to New London. I do have a bunch of other cars so not sure I'm up to the challenge of trying to beat 22K in a year, but I do salute you. I shall certainly be using my car for lots of trips, it was a true pleasure to use for a long trip. The Bose system is fabulous, I love the way it responds to your hand to change track or station even before you've touched the button.

Beautiful cars. I'm kicking around the idea of getting a 612 (or an new SL63) as a daily driver. For me that means about 8,000 miles/year as I split my miles with 4 other cars. I recently came across this 612 with nearly 30,000 miles. Lowest priced 612 I've seen yet.

I'll really only use the 612 for trips, that's where the mileage will come from. Sebring and Moroso in January, CMP and Roebling in Feb and March, Road America in June, etc. So, no excuses about having other cars to drive - I do, too. ;)

As for the car's specs, for me, it's a long distance luxury GT. It has the sporty exhaust pipes, but really what I need for my use is the convenience stuff: cruise control (can't believe that's an option on this car), home link, ipod, park camera, blue tooth, park sensors ... I'd even take a better cupholder. I'll take the car on track somewhere, for kicks, but if it spends 30 minutes on track during the time I own it, I'll be surprised.

Donv, your comments about the 612 helped push me towards the purchase, thanks.

Jais, pre owned 612s are a steal IMO. There are some incredible deals even on lower mileage cars. FWIW, my dealer, FoW, has a new pre-OTO car on the showroom floor.

Hmm...that's interesting. The sports exhaust (which used to come with the HGTS/HGTC packs) could be recognized by its different exhaust tips and chromed exhaust area grille (see attached pic). Has Ferrari changed that?

In any case, I wish you many, many happy miles with that beauty of yours.

Regards from an Italian Ferrari nut :)

Well, I paid $652 for the "sporty exaust [sic] pipes" option. It sure sounds sporty! But who knows? You've gotten me curious, I'll look into it when I have some time. Cheers, Will

Edit - it appears they may have changed things. From a 2008 dealer memo regarding 612 OTO options:

"In order to make the 612 Scaglietti more sporty and aggressive, the new exhaust tips are now available. The classic "trumpet" style of the tip is modeled after the ones installed on the 599GTB. They feature a unique look in that the outside of the tube is chrome-plated matte black while the end is glossy."

The photo accompanying the text shows a different setup than the one in your photo.

As for the HGTS option, it appears that it included colored calipers, 19"wheels, sports exhaust and revised suspension software. Some of this seems to have become standard(?) My car has 20" rims (19s were standard), the "sporty" exhaust and black calipers, which I prefer on this car in this color. Not sure about the suspension software, though I can set the Manettino to "sport," which provides driver entertainment if nothing else.

Thanks for the info. I'm still a little confused though...

The CC brakes are now standard so maybe the other HGTC options are also included.

What happened to the chromed rear grille and those 'HGTC' exhaust tips though? Maybe you need order them separately? I don't know. An updated options list might help.

    I bet you are :)

Did you pick it up at the factory and take it for a little tour (I noticed the EE plates)?

First of all, congratulations on the car. It's gorgeous. The 612 is an absolutely stunning car. I used to think it was ugly; then I drove it. Now every time I look at it I forget the styling and just remember what a sublime, spectacular vehicle it really is.

Regarding the mileage, check out this thread. It's from back in November 2006 when there was a 612 on eBay with nearly 45,000 miles. The owner chimes in on post 19 and later states he put that mileage on the car in around one year!

    Enjoy your 612!

Naw, it's still full of snot. :)

Only 45K miles on it so far, runs like a champ (or maybe an Audi?), and we still have a couple more months till its second birthday and a couple more short jaunts up and down the coast planned.

WCH: beautiful car! I'm so jealous of the cruise control and other upgraded features we didn't have on ours. Defineitly take yours to the track! It's an amazing car at the lmiits, and those limits are simply awe inspiring.

We'll likely be getting another in the next year, we miss it so.

Does that mean you prefer the 612 to the Flying-B ?
